Touch wood never broken a diff or axle yet in 43 years of driving but then i dont drive on the road with sticky slicks lifting wheels at full throttle and dumping down wheel with 380hp grabbing for traction so maybe i,m not normal. (just an observation)

That's actually pretty impressive!    :spoton:

(mind you my old man used to say to me - your just a rough bas#ard   ..... LOL)

It's not been the same since Mark left, he was a genuine enthusiast and was careful about what went into the magazine. Unfortunately what's happened is as interest grew in these cars, questionable cars come out and then it becomes political and you have to deal with a lot of dramas. Probably the most notable being the Brock VK big banger. Just Remember once it's in print it must be true

Not knocking Mark he did a great job and you do get burnt out and he,s probably enjoying a well earn,t rest and he can now get up after sitting down and not leave imprints of devotees sandshoes where he,s been sitting.

Well Done Wayne , That is a Outer Control front cover. Both car's look a million dollars. I am sure anyone with a Muscle Car or Two would love to be on the front cover of this magazine.

REDA9X , Just because AMC Mag made one mistake about the VK Big Banger and Mark leaving does not mean that the story's are not Genuine. Luke West is doing a great job , and we are lucky that we can buy copy's of this magazine. To me it sound's like you have a interest in becoming a editor for this mag. Who know's one day you might.

Sorry Wayne getting back to your Beast's, nice to read your story and photo's about your car's .Thank's for sharing .  Great Magazine Luke West .........

Just wondering, what was that one mistake AMC made about the VK big banger? I didn't see them make a mistake at all, and I didn't suggest they did, so don't misquote me. AMC wrote a story on the two cars, they never at any stage said which car was which, despite the fact they had the proof of which was which for fear of causing a drama, it's not AMC's job to verify cars or argue which is which. It wasn't until Peter Brock misread the article, and a rather angry phonecall, Mark was obligated to publish his (heavily edited/swearing removed) fax that the question over which car was which became an issue in AMC. They still never quoted which car was which, only printed his letter. The fact is Brock was wrong, and everyone knew it, but it seems people will believe things they read.

Mark was a genuine enthusiast, he had a real passion for it, you could tell every time he was around the cars.  I don't think Luke is doing bad job, and I never said that, I said it's not the same without Mark.

and i think that is a fair and just reply red
this amc mag is the only magazine i buy now and god knows how many i have recently
dumped at the tip
australian muscle cars are indeed a passion of mine
no matter what breed
once biased as a young bloke
now i find i love them all
especially with a bathurst heritage
the whole win on sunday sell on monday thing!
if i had my way i'd have one of everything
and one of my favourite times is when the latest issue of
australian musclecar reaches the shelves
we are still learning about all of these cars
and i don't believe anyone is
a full bottle!
i for one am still learning about A9X torana's
and i've had mine for 29 years
that's a part of what keeps me excited and full of lust for these cars
your comments and knowledge are always appreciated
and also many thanks to the other forum members who teach me so much
and all the other bastards that make me laugh!!!!
i only hope that my son will one day make me proud
and read every page of every issue like i have!
god forbid if he buys a turbo piece of jap crap
cept a nissan bluebird or a godzilla gtr
oooh fu$ sick sierra
to use as parts on a customised hatchback
thanks for the bathurst heritage or we would not have any great cars at all
bring on the next issue luke

Also i beleive that our police force take a dim view of that type of on road behavior.

Dunno about that racer8, I don't push the A9X like some people push other cars, I appreciate them
All, but I can think of one or two that wouldn't have made an issue

When we run out of the dino fuel for these old cars, the Electric Car will be the TREX the king of the hill, unless a forum member converts the first Torana into a electric car, Who's going first

Same here Outer. Mine still has the original Banjo and still going strong even with picking up an inside ten inch T/A at the odd track day. Congrats to yourself and AMC.

Make no mistake as can be seen in the latest Top Gear episode and at the Goodwood festival of Speed test comparisons on the hill climb.

Electric = Fast

Yes an electric Torana who is brave enough to have a go?

I wonder how it would go with NCOP registration of a modified vehicle.

The running gear out of the McLaren P1 in a Torana  SS Hatch, need room to fit it all in, what a beast it would be.

Be one bloody expensive Torana.

Probably bloody hard to get a McLaren P1 crate motor and I doubt the budget could stretch that far however nice and original it would be. The P1 is a stunning automotive achievement.

I was thinking more like a couple of these http://www.evmotors....oducts/fb1.html running with an LT4 GM V8.

Beautiful looking cars, enjoyed the article and photos, just one thing I should clarify for you. Your race car is most certainly not the Charlie O'Brien L34 as I have owned it foe the last ten years. Having said that I'm interested in finding out which race car your L34 was. Can show you some photos of the trick little bits and modifications on mine if you are interested. Cheers,               Grant
