We are having this exact debate at work atm... Business partner has a HT Monaro... base model, Had a 202 in it which made 85rwhp, stock with just 350holley, extractors and exhaust. Looked into turbo'ing the 202 but after all the money and effort it would be lucky to make 300rwhp and not be reliable (I know others have made more power and been reliable but this also costs more)

Thing is with a Monaro, even tho its a base model if you put in anything other then a holden motor or chev v8 old people want to cut your throat, I imagine a Torana would not be too different... If It was me Id put in a LS2/3 But he is now considering a RB or maybe a 2JZ. (not sure why he wants to stay with a 6) I said hell just put a Ford XR6T motor in :D

Btw thats abit of a minimal list... If the money was avaliable Id also add a surge tank, fuel pressure reg, blow off valve (can make it plumb back if you dont like the noise) catch can, oil cooler, gauges.

Feel free to add me to facebook (Clint Holmes) if you have any specific questions you want answered

Ok so Dave the your photo with the holley type carb and turbo setup. This looks like something that I would do, still looks old school and doesnt look awkward like alot of other set ups.

Who built this? I need to talk to that person! haha

Thanks

Stinga's set-up does look pretty awesome, that's for sure.

Maybe you should PM him and get some advice on a suitable carby.

Viper made a good point too.

RB 20, 25 or 30 would give excellent results for a reasonable outlay.

putting a jap motor into a torana is the same thing as telling your father that you are gay.

So reading between the lines here Jean I take it you're putting that 3K Corolla motor in the LJ now ?

With a hairdryer attachment no doubt...
