Mickey Thompson's are light weight tyres too. Dave I

I was checking a wide set at CMP centre the other day

Looks that I stuffed up. I bought The Sportsman S/R with the flame tread which is a street tyre not a strip tyre at all. I can only hope they have better grip than my normal street tyres or I have just bought a set of 15 inch tyres when I have 17 inch rims!
Now I feel like a real dick!
Well I guess you learn by your mistakes, and this mistake cost me.

now back to looking for a pair of ET street slicks!

Well I have my answer. With the MT street tyres I was skating through to high revs in third then spinning again in fourth, but I managed a 12:58 @ 113mph
My 60 foot times were 2.1. Could have ran faster, but, there is my answer.
12:58

That is Great Grant,

So what are you going to do next, 12.58 is very good, can a lower 60 foot time like 1.78 be possible. Dave I

Yeah i agree if you can get your 60' down in the 1.7's 1.8's you might nearly be looking at knocking on an 11.

Only way down is with a slick I think. Either that or I should have had a go at taking off in second to see if that helped any.
Might have a look for some slicks, but to be honest I wanted to know what I could do with what I've got. And now I have my answer. I really don't want to start spending too much coin on trying to go faster. On the street it's a whole lot of fun! Not bad considering when I set out to build the car I was aiming for a low 13. Quite happy with what I've got

Get some ET streets and watch your 60's tumble whilst remaining street cred.

Stock 173?
You don't know the meaning of the word!

I reckon it's awesome that you built a car (obviously on a tiny budget) and were popping big skids at 16 years of age.

Something to be really proud of.

More kids need to get into the shed and build something.  Life skills that can't be taught in school.
