Bruce , Nationals or only a car show as you put it matters little ....  process and perception are the same ..... easy to take pot shots , not so easy to do .......

As Daz said congrats to all who were there , you are all winners by just being there , a massive effort by many logistically ........ :clappin:

I certainly did not pay $500 entry fee. Great event, end of story, those that went seem to agree, those that did not seem to winge, go figure!

uuumm.....

1- find some guys who are Torana nuts and have built/restored some amazing cars
2- find a guy who organises some events that cater for Torana nuts
3- join the 1 + 2, and have ""Nationals"" style event
4- look around for some logical Torana experts to judge the entrants.......see line 1
5- carry out the judging
6- find that some of the experts cars win awards
7- who would be surprised??

Really....????

These guys were judges for a reason....they are respected guys in the Torana community, and by definition probably
have shit hot cars.

I wasn't there, but know some of the cars well....can only say they were always a good show of winning whatever
category they were entered in.

Probably would also win if entered in future ( Gold/ Sunshine Coast?) events.

imho

hi ive been reading and looking at all the snap shots of all these cars great looking cars
its interesting reading, cant understand why every one disagrees with every thing, but good reading any way 50 plus cars is disapointing for a national but it looked like a good turn out, as for danes xu1 its a fine example of an xu1, i wouldnt have any issus putting in my garage amoungst my toranas
indy hi in regards with the 2 bath xu1s u say the black car is a torana s and the other car is real and u also have photos i havent seen these cars personally,my question is how do u know which car is real, and yes photos would be great,
i hope the nationals hit melb as i know many cars tucked away, ready to be shown
my 2 bobs worth
regards aldo

The Top award which was for Excellence went to Ted Walkers GTR from Qld. If you had been there and seen it you would have understood why he won the award.

That GTR was absolutely stunning. A real credit to the owner!

just to start off with DANE you will need to attend this one

Goulburn 2016 has been mentioned, but until someone takes the rains and organises it then it may not happen.

as this is where your car come from,,, you would have most likly won this show with the way i got it off the old owner with out restoring it,,,

now to the pickers and people that like to say about re stamped engine numbers,,, if you think that is the way to low ball a feller forum member that as already openly told us members of the engine,,, well your wrong because not many of us give two fxxks as long as the truth is told on sale of the car i dont,,, also i notice that the people pointing the bad bone are people that dont own an original matching numbers car them selfs, you know with tags missing,,, i think if you have a personal issue with DANE on other matters that dont belong here on the forum or are just bully sort of problems, try keeping them to your own time,,,

also why im at it

Indy 71 GTR

i am all for show of proof thats what i do when i call people out,,, but yoiu should already KNOW that HEY

PS this forum is sure turning to shit when it comes to girly stuff of cryin because you dont win a prize, please people remember to remind me if i ever put my head on a chopping block at one of these events to bring a bag of lollies for those that miss out.

congratulations dane, but as you "stated" you were asked prior to the event to be a judge,so with this a event it should have been a case of judge or to be judged can,t be both, and as you stated in your thread about your car that it has restamped block. Is it true that (3) of the cars that won had restamped blocks so really the standard was poor for nationals?
ps boys club

My vote for wanker of the year :)

indi 71 gtr hi im still waiting on how u know about the 2    73 bath cars u have posted, no 78     the black one a torana s as u have stated and the sunburst to be the real car

as i own a few 73 bath cars i keep a diary on the existing 73 bathurst cars on file, that are still out there,

u say u have photos , i would like to see the photos if u  can put them up for all to see,   i myself would be interested in which car is the real one

waiting for a reply

gee i must say when i first started reading the bullshit part of this thread i was thinking there was 2 people cryin over the judging but when i went into the profile of these 2 people

Indy 71 GTR XU-1 RAT

its not hard to work out there both the same person, well they have the same name and cars and are chasing the same vh317 1971 lc xu1 booster,,, and if thats the case ROB mate whats happening i thought you and DANE where friends ???

i myself have had a lot to do with you over the years and not once did i ever think you was the type of person to stook that low that you would need to use 2 diffrent user names to bag a mate.

gee something personal going on here me thinks,,,[ im stayin out of this one now]

cheers gong

2 user names, thats a fishy person for a start, and you always find anonymous users hiding looking in these threads. If you have a problem with someone,go and front them,if your a bit scared, ring, but don,t be spineless and post your negative shit here.

On a positive great pictures ,and i,ve seen Danes car,it would be very hard to beat ,at any show.
