Picked up a VT Berlina Wagon on Sunday.

Got a touch over 150 000 ks on the clock.

Bit of clear coat lifting on 1 guard and a couple of handles.

Only got a few days rego.

Tyres are just legal and by driving it nothing seems bad in front end.

Confident it will pass roadworthy OK.

Paid a touch over 3 for it.

Too dear?

Did they see me coming?

Will post a pic when I can find my photobucket again.

If you get another 150,000 out of it without too much going wrong it will be a steal.

However I paid $700 for a VT Exec sedan for a bush bomb and we can't kill it

I traded my VT in at 290000km, the only thing I ever did was the radiator.

If you are happy with the car, you payed the right amount.

Change the oil regularly and drive it

cheers

Glenn

Been searching for one for a few weeks.

Cheapest executive I saw went for 700 with a little rego.

Most were running around 1200 to 1500. Again executives.

Had this one at its 200 starting price until a few seconds to go.

The only problem I have found with it is the drivers electric window.

Slow to go up and doesnt fully close without help.

Was a 3 hour trip each way to get it.

But to say I am happy is an understatement.

I just picked up a vt Calais LS1 auto with 140k on the under warranty replacement engine, was placed on Facebook thought my wife's friends list, it has been out of rego 12 months because all the lights came on the dash and the mechanic wanted it for a week to check it out, she went out and got a Astra.it drives great, looking at putting the engine into the Monaro,I offered her $800, she said all I want is $500, so I said no it will be $600. Very happy with the buy.

Good buy that one.

Bargains are around if you are patient.

But not many Torana bargains unfortunately

I buy VT and VXs for $200 and wreck them out, theres good money in parts just like the old days of people wrecking out HQ-HZs and Toranas.

This one is way too good to part out just yet.

Have seen lots of crapper sedans around cheap.

Mainly VS and earlier though.

Wanted a wagon for work and very happy with the purchase.

Can see many good years left in it yet.

I have been looking at what VT Calais parts have been going for, no one seems to be buying parts on eBay, dash surrounds, doors etc. one guy took the ls1 plus auto out of a Calais took the tail lights , started bid at 99 cents and ended up getting $132 for the rest. No value at moment.

Ebays shit, just sell on facebook. $300 motor $100 gearbox $80 radiaitor $100 steel wheels $200 if 17s or bigger $80 front brake and booster for upgrades $80 for seats $30 for glovebox $40ea headlights (if not faided). Dont ask high prices and you tripple your money easy. Only thing hard to sell is clusters, standard non LSD. If LSD get $150. If VX rear garnish is $40 and tailights the same.

You blokes in city may have trouble selling VT parts but in the country where i am its easy money.
