Good stuff Derrick, glad you had a good time. Love your new avatar pic!!
When I catch up with Dave, I hope to have a look at what he got on the GoPro.
Next time we will totally block out the 3 lanes with Torana's, and not just across, but 2 or 3 cars deep as well.
No worries Mark, loved your car, very very nice. It's a real credit to you.

BTW
The yellow hatch shown in post #144, is that a forum members car by any chance? I think that might be the one I mentioned catching up to as described in post #134.

Was great you made the trip, and great to pull up at the lights next to it at the lights, that thing sounds (and looks) wicked. I'm actually born in Port Augusta, and the brother was visiting me in W.A. from Europe, too many beers and lot's of years ago, (Bout 79?) we decided we would drive to Port Augusta to get a Pizza. Great trip lots of memories, had to slow down lots just to make the next fuel station in them days. They were built to be driven and enjoyed. Mine's had been around the clock 4 times before the odometer failed, back in the early 90's, so you can't hurt them, and until Saturday had always made it home under it's own steam. And that was because of a cheap chinese chrome fuel pump that had probably done 3k, was gonna try and fill the washer bottle with fuel and hook it to the carby and get home that way but wifey said no!!! Damn RAC kills initiative!!

I pulled up to assist, but Laurie said Jim ran out of Fuel.
So we moved on as the Fuel was getting sorted.
Just that day I took the Fuel Can off.

LOL, that's funny Jim,
Great to hear you got home safe Mick and Wayne. What a massive effort to get here and home again for a weekends fun.
Well done lads on a doing it.
Have to agree Jim, Wayne's car sounds ultra tough with the Group C pipes. It woke the neighbours round here I can assure of that!!

Oops, sorry neighbours, and we took off nice and easy to keep the noise down! And because it was my first drive of the beast and didn't want to break anything! L34 parts are too hard to find and cost too much!

T shirts have arrived, very happy.
Awesome pics of the cars out on the road, thanks for sharing.
Visiting Brockys memorial, would have been hard for me.
I know this is a real long shot, and probably none left, but hey its worth asking,is there any chance of buying one of these brilliantly designed shirts?
Gene you must of had the best day out !!!

Hey Craig, shirts are long gone. I had quite a few extras made on top of pre-ordered shirts, they sold out on the day. I could have sold another 20 or so easily. Glad you like it though.

They would sell like hot cakes in department stores, even other tags of the likes A9X 2 door lol ,XU-1 , HKTG 81837 ,even sandman etc, maybe you guys should make an extra earn !!
Could not see darkies black beast in pics :(
my 2nd car was a LX 6 cylinder, only because my uncle would not let me buy a V8,then when i left home i got a SLR5000,Then a L34,which was awesome, and lastly a ss hatch which i bought for the missus, wish i still had one lol.Kept my monaro,s and the xu1.
The SS i sold 20 years ago for 6k trade in, on a VK GRP 3,so she had air con for the kids.
You were a lucky man Gene.

I am thinking that we may need another run soon??????
Australia day run - compulsory attendance for anyone with a green or gold car?
Give us a chance to all wear our shirts.
What do folks think??

Keen to catch up though, maybe in April when it's cooled down?
We could do the same thing as last time, drive to a point where we can have a BBQ.

Date optional.
Destination optional.
Getting together and having a drive - not optional
Certainly cooler weather is not such a bad idea. The brekky run that we did to parkerville was pretty nice - see what people prefer - but certainly driving and food is a nice combo....
Got plenty of time to organise something....
