XU1 Retainer plate

PS were these only a 73 Bathurst thing or did other XU1s have them as well

yep what Rob said is correct .
bath 73 had the steel retainer plate same as dellow one not the alloy thick one on ebay ....
Gene watch the fan doesn,t hit the bolts when you put it on .

The billet retainer on ebay is what Dellow make now. They discontinued the pressed metal type many many moons ago.

in torrypowers picture what you see faces the radiator , you could grind down head of bolts by a mm or two Gene ,
From experience I would not go with out one of these plates on my holden 6 ...

The earlier steel dellow retaining plate (same as Genes) was a very good copy of the ones gmh used on the 73 bath 150 engines , I have an original and is very very close but no dellow stamping .
7000 not a prob as long as the other bits are up to the job ! he he and have fun ...

There is a part number written on it Rob it looks like UM 2092 does that sound right

The Dellow/NOS ones will stop it falling off forwards but they can also go backwards and machine the timing cover away.
