hi Jacob yes the steering column has been moved over a little, I don't recall doing that on my old LJ v8, Ground down the welds today, looks ok, will body fill and prime before I try to refit the door, the door has a few small rust holes on the inside I will take care of first, back to work tomorrow so not much more for the next 4 days, Cheers Greg

Bought the replacement floor pans and lower lhs guard today, will try and start on them this week. It has been recommended I take the front guard off to do a more thorough job of rust repairs on the rhs so will definitely think about that, repaired every thing I could find in and out but don't want to have missed anything. Cheers Greg.

Installed the lhs guard repair section today, took a little grinding and reshaping to get it to fit better, but am quite happy with the result, finished weldind the lhs rocker panel also. The rust replacement panel for the floors don't fit to well (rare spares), are they usually a crappy fit? I will try and install it tomorrow, probably just cut what I need off it and use the rest elsewhere. Done a fair bit in the engine bay also, filling all the extra holes and grinding off the engine plates, looks so much better now. Cheers Greg

done a little more this week. Cut out the floor and cut and welded in the badly shaped new part. (not that accurate for a new r.s part), started on the engine bay filling up excess holes et, ground off the engine plates and filled with weld, found more rust on back wheel arch rhs and rhs back 1/4 panel, old car I suppose! played around with the rhs door gaps also, coming along ok, hinges are hard to move (bigger hammer works), cut and welded up the wheel arch rust, cut out all the rust in the spare wheel well and under the back outer 1/4 panel, not to bad but cut out a fair bit anyway, does any one know if the spare wheel floor is butt welded to the outer 1/4 skin or does the outer over lap from under neath? I will check on the forums and try to find someone elses repair. Greg

Hi Greg,
You have done a Great lot of Work in the last 5 Weeks,
probably wished you had started earlier, as you would be saying, this isn't so bad after all.
Finer details coming soon.

used the parcel shelf off my donor lx sedan to repair the parcel shelf, the indentations are almost exact, had to cut away the lj round indents, but it will look better and be safer this way, started cutting the rust out around the back window(was worse than I thought,to be expected I guess). used galv sheet and bent it up to suit, should last longer than the last repairs that were welded with bronze arrgh!!!. will tackle the other side tomorrow, also welded up a few excess holes in the boot where the battery was located, looks neater now.

found more around the back screen, spent a few hours today getting the repairs right, ended up cutting out the last persons repairs and redoing them, also dollied up the boot floor,(took awhile), a lot neater now, tank sits flush, coated everything in rust converter as usual, started on the bottom of the lhs 1/4 panel, not as bad as the rhs but still ugly. start that Friday I think, back to work tomorrow,
