If you havnt found anything to spray over it yet, track some of this stuff down.

http://www.amazon.co...s/dp/B0035LOUMU

My local hobby shop stocks it. Modelers use the shit all the time to seal in decals/weathering chalks etc.

Cheers.

So that means the Dealer had to change the FC fuse box to an FD box rather than just install the extra fuse holders when fitting a radio.

Sorry I'm not totally convinced yet Bazza.

That's what I'm thinking. Maybe the FD fuse box was used in the big Holdens with radio as standard?. I have pictures of 8 LJ Broadcast Sheets and all have a dash in Box 50 (meaning no radio) and FC in Box 157 (Fuse Panel).

Cheers

HQ, HJ etc didn't use the LC/LJ flip down type fuse box.

I've got two old FC code fuse boxes and both have radio fuse holders that look like they've been there since the year dot.

Who knows? My FC fuse box has no radio fuse or terminals of any kind - just a blank gap. I'm not going to lose sleep over it though.

Cheers

Wasnt that hard a job to go to the wreckers and get another fuse holder part and shove it in.

Ive done it to about 10 cars myself that didnt have the radio fuse holder.

I don't believe it is to do with the radio.

There were no factory-fitted radios in LJ in any 6-cyl model. My guess is that it might be to do with the cigarette lighter. SLs & GTRs had a cig lighter, while S models did not.

Look at the pic in post #25, there is no fuse terminals for a cig lighter, so I'm guessing that fusebox came out of an S model.

These terminals can be easily sourced & fitted when either a radio or cig lighter is fitted as an accessory by the dealer.

Would be the same deal Brad.

Cig lighter is std equipment in SL, SL/R & SS models only.

No idea about Torana 1900 & Sunbird models

Torana 1900 & Sunbird follow the same scheme. 1900 S had no cig lighter, while 1900 SL & Sunbirds did.

Cig lighter must have been the most requested accessory in the day cause I can't recall ever seeing an LC or LJ S that didn't have one.

Cig lighter and ash tray was an accessory in my 2004 VZ S. Seems the trend these days is heading towards ash trays and lighters not std equipment in any models and in some cases simply not available at all.
