Rare Spares New products had these listed this week and wondered what does this actually do. I originally had one fitted in mine but removed to replace the Fuel Hose and Rubber Grommet but i never refitted it back on.

Stops you from frOcking up your fuel line when the esky slides around in the boot.

Cheers.... you know I only asked because I guess I haven't really seen a Boot with a standard fuel tank. I mean my LC when I bought it had an aftermarket Fuel Cell. I guess it's just one of those things I tend to forget.

Mines not origional either so i cant help, but standard the fuel line comes out of the top of the tank, inside the boot, travels along the boot floor for a distance then ducks down under the car again. This coveres that.

The section of fuel pipe the guard protects is part of the sender unit. The end of the pipe on the sender unit protrudes down through the rubber grommet in the boot floor and a rubber hose under the floor connects the sender unit pipe to the main fuel pipe to the engine.
BTW, the Rare Spares guard shown in the pic is for the XU1 tank. Rares also have the guard kit for the std 10gal tank.

Old thread. Just wondering what glue/adhesive do you use to fix the gaurd to the fuel tank. Cheers Ian.
