How many people still do brake and fuel lines for the public? I called a fair few reputable hydraulic/brake shops than wouldnt bend up or flare brake line for me. Something about liability and they wont do it unless they fit it as well.

This tube is crap. I tried it with sand inside and making sure the pipe didn't slip. Very small angle and already kinking. zytaqaha.jpgyga2ymeq.jpgypa3y6es.jpg. So if anyone knows a pipe bender in Perth north of river. Otherwise ?????

the bender has separated from the mating part, I see there Marty,

Imagine a round tube, we need a complete covering, which means, that bender, needs to be touching the better half's,

and it's not; look, a gap of half the tube thickness to get out

Marty has my Sykes flaring tool and my Mastercool unit

So the flaring part is the easy bit

What do you mean about the end of the tube ? Pic ?

Daves right. The bender is flexing, or not being held tight enough.

Ahhh FFS Marty, I just realised after looking at your first pics again your bender suits 1/4", 5/16" & 3/8" tube. Your problem is you are trying to bend 5/16" tube in the 3/8" mandrel (slot). Try the middle 5/16" slot for your bends.

Your frOcking good S pack Dave. Put it in the middle groove and away she goes, silky. Thanks too all for persisting with num nuts here. I'll grab the tube back from the junk pile and try again tomorrow with no sand. This is my sand filled test piece. mu3y4amu.jpgtupemahy.jpg<br />Marty(num-nuts)

somebody called somebody a Tool

It's either the bending tool, the tool operating the tool or tubing with a very thin wall.

Haha, that I did Dave, that I did.

Cheers

Dave.

I've done the main line, tricky job for an amature. Have now been working on the rib finish on the ends. It has taken a few tests but have got a result finally. hena8y8u.jpgrevybumy.jpg

Hi, If you block one end of the tube with a small rolled up newspaper and twist it in tight about 40mm, then fill the pipe with a fine dry sand standing the pipe up vertical occasionally to tap the sand down with a small piece of wood gently tapping until it packs tight almost to the top then twist another piece of newspaper in the end trying not to leave any space you will find that it will bend cold with your hands, or hot will gas or with your bender without kinking, looks almost like a mandrel bend, make sure you wash the line out after. Good Luck, Cheers Plussy
