If the thing is throwing belts off then it is most likely an alignment problem between the w/p pulley, the Harmonic balancer and the alternator. The alternator pulley is most likely the culprit.
I tried to load a photo of the bracket but the file is too big have to work out how to make it smaller

No many photos but the following has happened;
- the new consul is wired in and operational - looks pretty trick and happy its wired correctly now and it's all been checked by the auto electrician
- re mounted the ignition coil to a new bracket off the booster bracket so it's not on the engine anymore
- the engine is in but no accessories r on
- got my new 7" inch sprint masters to swap with the 6.5
one more mill, it's going to be one sick sorted machine I cannot wait - it's been a long time between drinks.

a few problems as usual;
I have an old style larger romac and the new fandangled larger water pump pulley is hitting it so it's back the GMH standard OEM one
the webber manifolds were a prick to fit and a one piece one may seem easier I'm now not sure as trying to fit the manifold to the extractors and square up is difficult and requires finessing
re did the fuel line in braided metal line and also put in a metal fuel filter
EFing rotor button from repco does not fit the distributor - as i bough a new one and specifically said bosch electronic dissy-
the gear stick needs adjusting and a bend put into it and laid back - it works now but could work better for hand clearance - the new consul is very close
looking for a monday fire up

Grant, just put the water pump pulley in the lathe and machine the lip that is fouling the balancer. Is only a millimetre of so.
Or sell me the oversize pulley!!

How do your ports match up with the one piece manifold? I've heard that REPCO stands for rip every poor C off. but I'm sure that's just not true!

Jon ,
i have a warneford old style - three piece which was match ported. There pretty good at the moment as it allows some fiddling.
but when there is three things that need to be adjusted - exhaust flange - intake port - intake manifold there has to be of massaging and not the type where there is a happy ending in 15mns !!!
my point was that if you were trying to fit a " one piece intake manifold " then there would be less individual adjustment .- but the " sum of the product equals end result " so my argument is somewhat irrelevant it's just that one may take more time to resolve.
BTW Jon what was the outside diameter of your ATI balancer for interest just to check against my old romac.
Steve the pulley will cost you $15000 bucks and I'll personally deliver tomorrow - LOL - whats doing with the mighty 186 man - will you be on the grid soon
Some say if you don't machine the fuel pump lobe off it'll act like a pump and push oil up that breather rather than allow oil to return to sump.
Arrimar - i was trying to work out what you were referring to but now i get it - I built a baffle on the hole which is part of the block off plate - but it was one of my concerns of keeping the oil away from the breather hole - time will tell on this one.
Looking for a hit out at wakefield spring historics

There is only one thing I could add to your set up and that is to drill and tap the flat bosses on the inlet manifold and bolt a thick piece of Aluminium Flat bar, like 15 x 8 mm onto to those pads and that will stiffen up the individual three piece manifolds. Probaly at some time bget a flt bar welded on and that will esentially convert it into a single piece manifold.
I'd probably also get rid of the little hoses between the manifold parts and screw some brass plugs into the holes. I don't think the balance tubes are really necessary between the carbies.
Ask the Tilleys/Dyno man . they will know for sure.
