128 will still be an LC XU1 carb. It may well be the very early sets didn't have the A & B codes?
You are sure there isn't a very very feint A or B stamped on there?

mate did this carby have a needle in it if so can you tell me the letter and number on it,,, there is a pretty easy answer to your question, the earlier version 67-68-69 that only had one 150cd carby and they only had 128 stamped on them,, take the full bottom off and turn carby upside down and see what date you have in there. the A and B only came around for the XU1.

First 2 pics are the 128 104 6E carb
All needles are 6E with the exception of the 128B carb which is 6N

Ken, this one is 1970 vintage. The 0 inside the circle of dots is the year and the dots represent the months of the year.
Is this one a 128, 128A or 128B?

The 2 x 128A and the 128B all have just A104, nothing else, no dots...

here is a lesson in the 150cd carby.
sometimes they at the carby body factory forgot to put down the A-OR-B and sometimes they did not put the A OR B next to the 128. it could be somewhere else on the face of the carby
in this pic of the 1970 cast date the dots are a clock from 1 to 12 you will notice that the big number 8 dot as a small tiny dot inside the clock next to it and then the next small tiny dot is number 11 so that carby would suit any lc xu1 built between the 8th and 11th month of 1970
you will also notice in that pic that i put a black mark on this part that a xu1 carby should not have but it will have the small bit at the back of the carby,,,that also means that this carby is no good for a xu1
now to the 6E and 6N NEEDLES someone at some stage has changed the 6E needle out of the 128B carby and replaced it with a 6N needle witch where used on the earlier cars

The bracket in the middle pic is off the 128B and the other 2 are from the 128A

No, just that he seems to be taking a break from the Forum. For how long is anyone's guess.

I was cleaning up a set of lc xu1 cd150s and had a few questions, but now i dont,
Mine are 128 128A 128
First 128 is 10/70 dot code with A104 so im assuming a mov 1970 set of tripples
Photos attached ,
If im wrong please let me know,
Thx liswar
