Locks thief in car till police arrive, if you were waiting for the plod then said thief would die of starvation. Probably a good result.

always thought of hooking an electric fence up to the shed door or the whole car, a few guys attempted to steel my uncles racecar last week, wasnt a good idea considering my cousin was home and is a keen hunter, they tried to start the thing but with no topend on the motor it didnt work, and when all the lights come on and my cousin standing there with a shooty, they were very forgiving, best thing ever is there locked up now, had a few things on there heads,

uncle has also invested in a few rhino systems, one for his daily, hx monaro, and group a, and is very happy with the system so far :) no faults what so ever

Just saw this on the today show about WA GPS Trackers, the box they are fitting is called Black Knight and about the size of a box of matches. They are fitting out 1000 cars for free in a trial for cars that get regularly stolen......

Article Below....

GPS trackers to cut car theft in Perth

PERTH drivers most likely to have their car stolen will be approached to have free GPS trackers installed in their vehicles, in a move to crack down on thieves.

THE world-first scheme is a "game changer" in law enforcement, Police Minister Liza Harvey said.

One thousand free GPS devices will be installed by the RAC in a bid to shake Western Australia's reputation as the car theft capital of Australia.
Recent figures show one car is stolen every hour in WA.
National Motor Vehicle Theft Reduction Council spokesman Ray Carroll said while WA had the most secure fleet nationally, with nine in every 10 cars protected by an immobiliser, thieves were breaking into homes to steal the keys of late model vehicles.
Ms Harvey said in the past five years, 27 per cent of all motor vehicle thefts in WA were the result of a home burglary.
The minister said trackers will be issued to motorists who drive car makes and models that are most commonly stolen.
But that information will not be disclosed publicly because of the nature of the trial.
The car owner will use their smart phone to set an electronic fence around the vehicle, which will trigger an alert if it is driven away.

Am i the only one considering the usefulness of a phone blocker in public places ?

Haha my brother lives in Sydney and spends a fair bit of time on public transport..... Let's just say every now and then the silence is golden he reckons. I just have fun with mine at restaurants and the pub ! Something wrong in the world I reckon if you need to check Facebook 20 times every half hour :)

Those CDMA blockers are verrrry illegal.

Yeah, those jammers are good if you want a date with the Federal police.

They take a dim view of anyone disrupting peoples ability to call for emergency services...

This bloke (Shane) has good feedback on a few forums for his GPS trackers, it's not a cheap POS though.

I've seen one which acted all kinds of strange and didn't want to work, but seemed to behave normally after being plugged in for some time. Came to the conclusion that maybe the battery was flat and it refuses to operate without internal charge?

Not particularly useful seeing as the GSM network is being switched off next year?

If you're gonna buy one, make sure it's the latest technology so you get the longest life out of it.

Just hide an iPhone in it with "find my iPhone" switched on... Surely could hide it easily enough and run 12v to its charger to keep it running...

A few months ago a truck was dumped out the front of my house it had one in it.

Cops knock on my door an asked if I had seen anything.

I asked where was it parked as I could'nt see it at the front door.

He showed me. I said to him, that's a stupid place to park it, he looked at me with a strange face.

I then pointed to my cctv camera.

Victor

P.s The thing is the cops wait for it to be stopped for an hour or so before they look for it.

Trying to see if it leads them to more stolen stuff.
