Will be replaced with 343mm Disc's Gene.
They look like scrap metal Dave
Question:-
I wonder if I can have the Rear 343mm x 24mm disc's all round,
and remote hand brake caliper for the little LC?

Dave, your disc is LH/LX Torana.

Didn't some of the LC XU1's and early LJ XU1's on the front end have a bit of round steel welded on each side of the lower wish bone instead of the re-enforcing that was used to strengthen them up.

Very unusual looking Disc, as I have never seen one hey,

sorry AL i have never seen this on a factory car.
what is this bracket for ?
this pic was use to show members the difference between the 1970 bracket used to the 71-72-73 one, if you have one of the later cars that use the p/valve set up you will then know the difference.
this pic below is of the PV marked in green and the 1973 front bracket marked with arrow

the thing that none of the xu1s had was these plate that are found on all other disc brake models
Wasn't aware of this change. Assume that it is to help braking temperatures in race conditions rather than because of any potential problem with running the wider discs? which setup would people favor for a non concourse car?

I believe that they welded in a bit of steel rod on each side to start with, then later on they came up with the re-enforcement bit you weld in, maybe its only on the very first LC XU-1's.

hi AL
the 1970 and early 71 batches of LC XU1S never had the reinforcements it only started with the 71 CK cars, but the reason was they where cracking thats why the change was made so you may well have seen some earlier cars with this part you talk of, its just i have never seen it thats all mate.

A guess,
type of fitting used on the brake line connection,
other than that, I have never looked into this,
and will from now on.

Hi AL,
March 1971 is when the Dealers were advised it was permissible to arc weld 7/16" reinforcement rods on either side of the LCA's of XU1 used in arduous conditions or competition.

Thanks for that Dave, so the Dealers got the Nod to do it, makes sense as the Factory would not of had the time, Harry and the HDT Boys came up with 7/16 steel rod fix, I wonder how many cars got it done.
