So do you think there is enough room for a 308 between the towers? That might fix your ride height issue.

Be a bit congested with a 308 as ballast under the bonnet & a 202.

And you know I've got the 6 banger nats on my bucket list, so will see how I go for this year but if not, it'll happen one day.

Winter sucks.
It's been a bit slow going but there's not much in the way of drags happening here anyway so, all good.
Front & rear bumpers are now fitted up with the smallest usable brackets made up.
Filled up a heap of firewall holes.
Match ported the extractors, welded on O2 sensor bung & flange joint.
Fuel cell is mounted up & fuel lines sorted.
Repositioned breather tank as it was getting a bit crowded at the front there...
Coolant overflow tank lifted from the EH fitted nicely on the lhs.
Found & fitted a new alloy radiator which was a heap lighter than the old copper unit, stoked!
Ran a couple of descent earth straps onto the engine too.
Tailshaft has had the hilux rear flange treatment which apparently is a far better & heavy duty alternative than the bmw unit.
Mounted up the trans cooler as close to the trans as I could, made up some metal lines with short hose joiners, so hopefully trouble free.
Just need to whack the tailshaft & diff back in, make up a trans crossmember to get a good tailshaft angle.
Fit up the extractors & inlet manifold.
Probably fitting up a tailshaft loop.
And wiring it all up....
Enjoy!

What does a 202 and a BMW have in common?
A car the 202 comes in (VB-VK) shares the same wheel stud pattern as a BMW (5 x 120mm)?
Love the concept of this thread too. Would be even better to see someone do an LS1 into one.

I fail to see how an LS1 could be better.

Stock LS1, ~ 300hp.
Stock 202, ~ 150hp.
Cost to get stock LS1 into a car = ~ 300hp from 202 anyway.
Your maths is shit Gene.

Lighter, more power, better economy etc etc. Car would be a weapon. Engine itself wouldn't be all that bad cost wise if you got a good used one. It is the transmission where the cost would be unless I guess you left the 4L60E.
300hp is pretty conservative too for an LS1. As it'd need an exhaust made and probably you'd do some sort of cold air intake as well, a stock LS1 with these mods and even a mail order tune will pull 280kW on an auto engine or 300kW with a manual. Something you'll never do with a 202 unless you blow it.
I still love the concept though - I'd love to see a piston engine jammed into an RX7 in a similar way.
