Hi all, any of the clips on the page linked correct for attaching the harness to the inner guards on a LJ?
http://www.rarespare...ISHING PA&pno=0

Mine didn't have any so I have no idea.

Cheers.

Tony

There are two different sizes used in the LC/LJ engine bay to hold the wiring harness to the wheelhouse panels.

RC0008 and RC0016 are the style. As to whether they are the correct sizes is hard to tell from the pics.

Also the original clips are black phosphate coated not zinc plated as the rares clips appear to be.

I'm assuming the dog leg piece on the clip hooks into the hole in the inner guard?

That's right Tony and the ones in the pic looks like they only suit the passenger side(short ones)

They can be a bit tricky to clip in.

cheers

If these are the smaller type of the two, they're also used for holding the windscreen washer hose onto the bonnet. I think on the passenger side the middle one is the larger version of this and the front and rear one's are the small type. The drivers side should use the big ones as it holds the wiring harness and the windscreen washer hose to the inner guard.

Yea, the bigger ones would be the other clips listed.
Have I run the harness through the correct hole? Don't want to be in the shit...

Ahh, I was trying to think wtf was in that one. I was thinking bonnet cable, which I haven't got.
The missus will be happy that we chose the right hole. :)

Is there is diagram or pic of the correct under bonnet wiring / washer hose clips anywhere?

Got a couple of manual pic's I've been cropping/enlarging so's to bring them up to A3....(optics on the blink)

only washer hose stuff tho.

LC/J 6 cylinder:

Attached File  scan0007.jpg   253.24K   47 downloads

Attached File  6bottle.jpg   208.87K   16 downloads

Clip: hose to engine hood(B- B)...SP1905...x2

Clip: hose to front wheel housing(A-A)...SP1779   x2

Clip: hose to RH hood hinge bracket (E-E)...7413370- same as harness clip behind engine/below heater.

The hinge clip(E) in the pic is shown fitted on top, both that I have are fitted to route the hose under the bracket..so?

Cant do photo's as camera U/S & wouldnt say my car is untouched but looking at this, aint too far off.

Clip image "section C-C" is for 4 cylinder.

Cant see anything listed for the LH harness/battery cable & mine look to be as the RH clips...but ?

Can someone fill me in on the washer bottle clip underneathe in the 2nd pic? I know its for supporting the bottle

when full so's not to stress the upper mounting tabs(plastic) when cornering to the right, but havnt seen 1 or seem

to have the hole for it. Was it an LC thing as pic is from LC manual?

Tried 3 times to type capitol bee bee but that bloody smily head with glasses keeps appearing...frocking PC is pulling the piss!

Never ever seen one of those reservoir retaining clips on a Torana. Mine never had one and no extra hole for one.

That reservoir clip is P/N. 7437259.

Only relevant for HK/T/G .

Lazy buggers used above models drawing .

That  is  in  correct .

All  1969  and  1970  LC  6  cylinder  models  were  fitted  with  the  washer  bottle  retaining  clip  from  the  factory.

The  clip  was  deleted  for  1971  vehicles  onwards.
