Guys,

I've hit a bit of a snag, I was going to take the red rocket to targa high country in stead of the green car and go the full hog and enter into the next class up. BUT the car needs to be registered.

I understand that Victoria has a permit which can be arranged for a limited period to get the car there and drive around.

Now I'm only going to trailer it down and back but it needs to be registered which seems like a lot of work for full rego.

H plate is still an option but i need to start doing some works so I can get the car Blue slipped- I can do this but the roll cage and seats need to come out.

So if anyone can help with this Vic permit then this would be appreciated rather than start from scratch or at least the " heads up " on it so i don't wast my time.

I think you'll find the "permit" only allows you to drive the car A* Home from a purchase and B* To and from a mechanical repair business and C* Only during daylight hours.

I was talking to the targa chick and she said that they have a permit , Sounds like she is totally wrong , it sounded to good to be true.

she did say that she would send some info but it hasn't arrived yet.

cheers, just wanted to get the truth from the vic guys down there.

Same over here Grant,

I think the Permit is only that,

not a form of Registration.

in wa I think there is two types of permits you can get . One is two work on your car and stuff , the other is for events and rallies . You may have the same in Victoria .

You only need a "pink slip" for H plates Grant, no need for a "blue slip".

If you are trailering there and back, you might be able to use this option. $292 worth of option. Good for 12 months. You need to be a member of a CAMS affiliated Car Club to take this option up.
