I haven't ever heard that they are different but I don't think it would matter anymore because they would be shagged anyway.

Depends if the GTR was used or not,

the above picture is used, and I think they had the big dust cap on top too.

So what purpose is this thread for Matthew,

to get replacements or just to see if she is original?

I had a scout around Google, to no avail.

Good Luck with the Findings

The top cap was riveted on so id say they are original torana.

I was just wondering if spring rate or height was different?

Got a pic of the metal caps and insulators that came off those springs?

There should be a part number on them. It may just take some time to clean them up a bit and find it. From your picture, turn the spring upside down and it should be on the outer part of the very last winding before the metal ends (a bit hard to explain, but clean the other end up with some wet and dry and you should find it). I have a spare set of CK XU1 springs at home, and all the part numbers are visible on them. Also, in that parts book extract, the last line should read CK Eng for the 2816336 part number.

Front Spring 2600s & 186X eng (Lt. Green) Free Length 10.95"  Pt No. 2810938

Your rear springs, if original, should be

I had a look on mine and couldn't see anything, I'll have to get the wire wheel out and take off the 40 years of crud that are on them.

Back to the original question though, are these worth anything?

I personally don't see how it would be beneficial to use a 40 year old set of springs over a brand new set of King Springs.

I'm going to put them in and see how it looks. Car was not dragging on ground when I pulled springs out It's also proving to be a low km car due to everything being in good nick after cleaning it up . Despite the copius amounts of rust I delt with.

They are worth good coin to someone who needs them for an XU1 or GTR restoration Craig. They are easy enough to have reset to original specifications. I have looked at quite a few of the replacement springs on the market and none of them are done as per original. The steel is normally thicker, and with less windings. It is also very hard to get the original length if you want the car to sit at the original LC 82911 ride height.
