A big thanks too all the photographers, videographers and anyone else that took the time to take pics and post for those of us that couldn't be there.

Looking at most of the cars makes me wonder if Tracie's will be good enough, there were some pretty nice clean rides there.

Bit of de ja vu Col, glad ya's came home in one piece, driver was probably rubber necking at all the hot torries and not paying attention to where he/she was driving.

frOck that would have been an ass clenching moment after what happened to the last one!!!!

Yeah and so soon after getting Purple sorted.

Fark me.

Some idiot nearly cleaned up my Torrie today and then tried to take out my missus who was behind me.

Pretty sure he wouldn't have survived it.

Oh, sorry mate, I read somewhere else (maybe fact of fiction thread?) that purple was finished and thought I must have missed something.

Even so, not something you want to be a part of twice.

G'day All

Thanks muchly to Pete Morris and his band of VERY hard workers to make Toranafest 2015 a GREAT success  :clappin:

Despite the rather damp weather, it did not put a damper on the weekend and I did not hear of anyone complaining about it

I think Maitland Showground was a success for Toranafest and the cruise of 156 Toranas on Saturday was a head spinner for those along the route

The scenery was very pleasant and the road was in good condition

Thanks also to Graham (LX5008), a HVTC member who went out of his way to bring a radiator pressure tester to the Fest motel and helped out 3 Festites with radiator/hose/cap problems

It will be a long wait till Toranafest 2017 and hopefully my body will still be OK for another fantastic weekend

I will be posting "Pop's Weird View of Toranafest" soon and it should be taken as it is meant to be, for a laugh

Barry

Thanks all that took part in any way shape or form. It was a challenge to attempt a new venue and with the weather thrown in, it was a huge challenge for us and the HVTC. Our members worked tirelessly throughout the weekend in trying conditions. what fantastic Club members we have!!!!!

Thanks also to Mick McCardle for his huge amount of work in trying circumstances.

Toranafest is not just the Sunday event any longer it actually spreads over 3 days:

Friday night Tail Light function kicked off with a welcome drinks and food.

Saturday saw a record number 156 take part in the Cruise to a fantastic destination at Morpeth.(Tthe Drone guy did not want to risk his camera in the weather conditions, we'll try in 2017)

Then back for the dinner which the rain hampered again. I was quite nervous doing the interviews as I had never done anything like that before so thank you guys for being very respectful when the guests were speaking. Mick also did a fantastic or should I say AWSOME job with the auctions.

The people at DOG Rescue Newcastle asked me to thank you all for the support you showed them. they were overwhelmed at the generosity shown.

We will be making donations also to Ronald McDonald House and Riding for the Disabled when the bills stop coming in and the dust settles.

Thanks to Lawrie and Barry for there generous donations for the Auctions. you guys capture the spirit of things!!!

Sorry Gene for not interviewing you. When the weather hit we had to re jig things and we also tried to finish a bit earlier as the weather looked threatening again.

Once again you guys have shown Torana people are great people, and we have a fantastic community across Australia.

I will be interested in feedback both good and bad about the event. We will be talking to Maitland Council in the next month or so for 2017.

I'm sure you will be there Barry

PS a big Hooray for Bruce Nowacki.......... recovering from a very recent  operation and advised not to fly.... so they drove from Melbourne!!

Long live Toranafest and the Torana Spirit!!!!!

 Thanks and Regards

Pete Morris

Barry's display is a highlight for my wife and I. We especially liked the hand made montage table. Good work mate.

I actually did not have time to look at how quickly you packed up if at all when the rain came because I was busy diving into my own leaky shelter.

(note to self. beach shelter keeps the sun out but not so well the rain)

I was parked between 2 big Torana's with fella's from the central coast on one side and FNQ on the other.

I really felt like a youngster at 29 years a Torana owner knowing each of them have had there cars well into 30 years.

It just amazes me that people have hung onto these things that long.

Congratulations to the HVTC members and all involved for running a great event.

The cruise was great on Saturday too. Great drive and great little spot.

G'day All

I've burst the virgin Toranafest bubble by going on Sunday to the Fest & WOW what a great turnout, On arival i donated 8 large cans of dog food to the Newcastle dog rescue then i had to get my Toranafest t-shirt & hat & a quick g'day to JR.

The digital camera was pulled out and pics were taken of all the hatchbacks ( research ) and once i got to Tony"s hatch -  ( TSN 007 )  i gave him a call so i could meet him in person & what a nice fella he introduced me to a few of the guys from the forum - Rob, Matt, Keith and it was nice to meet you all & have a chat.

Seeing i was on a mission I managed to take pics & view of all the 65 + hatchbacks before the heavens opened up then a quick feed and back home to look after the wife with the flu that i gave her ( sharing is caring ).

Well done to HVTC & all the people involved in setting up Toranafest - great job
