Thanks all that took part in any way shape or form. It was a challenge to attempt a new venue and with the weather thrown in, it was a huge challenge for us and the HVTC. Our members worked tirelessly throughout the weekend in trying conditions. what fantastic Club members we have!!!!!
Thanks also to Mick McCardle for his huge amount of work in trying circumstances.
Toranafest is not just the Sunday event any longer it actually spreads over 3 days:
Friday night Tail Light function kicked off with a welcome drinks and food.
Saturday saw a record number 156 take part in the Cruise to a fantastic destination at Morpeth.(Tthe Drone guy did not want to risk his camera in the weather conditions, we'll try in 2017)
Then back for the dinner which the rain hampered again. I was quite nervous doing the interviews as I had never done anything like that before so thank you guys for being very respectful when the guests were speaking. Mick also did a fantastic or should I say AWSOME job with the auctions.
The people at DOG Rescue Newcastle asked me to thank you all for the support you showed them. they were overwhelmed at the generosity shown.
We will be making donations also to Ronald McDonald House and Riding for the Disabled when the bills stop coming in and the dust settles.
Thanks to Lawrie and Barry for there generous donations for the Auctions. you guys capture the spirit of things!!!
Sorry Gene for not interviewing you. When the weather hit we had to re jig things and we also tried to finish a bit earlier as the weather looked threatening again.
Once again you guys have shown Torana people are great people, and we have a fantastic community across Australia.
I will be interested in feedback both good and bad about the event. We will be talking to Maitland Council in the next month or so for 2017.
I'm sure you will be there Barry
PS a big Hooray for Bruce Nowacki.......... recovering from a very recent operation and advised not to fly.... so they drove from Melbourne!!
Long live Toranafest and the Torana Spirit!!!!!
Thanks and Regards
Pete Morris
