Long story short, when they called me up to collect a trophy for my hatch at the last Toranafest show, they called out Gerry Wade not Ward. I refused to get up as I didn't believe it could be my hatch.  The boys paid out on me big time and now Wadey has stuck.  And to those that do know me, I always have one too many to drink on the Friday night when we arrive in Newy, so my alto eggo comes out and I am a dead set pain the arse. So I have been told not to bring Wadey up this year or there is a good chance he will be tazered :-).  I will do my best to behave this year.....

Wadey makes an appearance again and he will get a five second 'ride' to which a several more 'rides' may well occur - not because he deserves it, though he probably will, but merely because it would be fun

Hi all, here's an update on the charity side of the 'Fest, courtesy of Pete (REDLJ).

Hi, Toranafest entrants and yet to enters. Just letting you all know a little extra that the Hunter Valley Torana Club will be doing this year for Toranafest.

Over the years with your help we (the Torana community) have raised thousands of dollars for different Charities and this year will be a little different than the past 20 years.

Our two main charities of choice are once again Ronald McDonald House and a new Charity for us Riding for the Disabled.

However, we have a third charity that we want all Toranafest entrants and members of the public to assist directly.

Dog Rescue Newcastle have saved thousands of dogs over the last 5 years, and do a fantastic job in finding homes for lost, mistreated and abandoned puppies and dogs.

What does this mean for you guys?

We are asking every entrant to bring either some dog food, new collars, leads or beds for this fantastic organisation.

When we contacted Dog Rescue Newcastle they could not believe that Motoring enthusiasts would want to support their charity. They were over the moon.

So although it is not a condition of entry we are asking for you to bring something to support this organisation. Check them out on Facebook also.

Just a tip, while food, collars (not choker chains), leads and beds are always needed, it would benefit the dog rescue more if it was flea and worming treatments as well (Drontal all wormer for dogs, Frontline Plus for dogs etc).  I deal with a few rescues and these are always needed so the dogs can go to their new homes flea and worm free.

I was glad to see that an animal charity was going to benefit as they do an awesome job and are often not supported as much as they should be.
