I assume they're meaning interested?
I'd be interested too if I thought i had a car that might be effected, and who knows, I might, but I hope not.

Short answer no.
Just trying to warn people and don't like seeing people being taken advantage of.
P.S. I think it's a great car and would like to have it in my garage, but not at the asking price.

Im sure it said (overtly) the car was a re-shell - seems to have been redacted and now says 'tribute car'...
Or is it merely that my memory is flawed?

Hope no one on here been ripped off or has there car taken from them.
If l had that kind of money people are asking for a genuine A9X, L34, SL/R today, I'd want a lot of proof.
Luckly when I bought my SL/R with all the paper work. I didn't have to spend a lot of money.
Can understand why not to name the people involved, but if the mods know who the doggy basted are & member have been ripped off, then a simple PM to the members affected would be a step in the right direction.
They might put up there cars in the future, only to be taken to court for falsely advertising there cars.

Hi Shaun (WhiteA9XS)
I did the same thing as what you did, ringing up owners to find history about my car.
I purchased my xu-1 in the late 80's,and was cheap too in those days.
I bought my car off my best friend,he bought it off the original owner, and he couldn't remember his first name.
And from a lot of phone calls it did back in 2005,I found my original owner,i left a message, and rang me back the same night.
And in 2007,i rang my original owner and asked him would he come to a local car show in his area and he did.
And i rang up my best friend if he come too the car show for a photo shoot and came too.
So at the car show i gave my camera to a car club member, and took a half a dozen photo's standing in front of the torana.
I made up a bread board and put that photo of the 3 of us,and some photo's he gave me from the early 70's and 80's.
When i go too different car show's all around nsw,Dane from the hunter valley has seen my car and the bread board, with my history on it.
Regards John.

At least they are being honest about its originality. If anyone bought this anyway believing it was original they are foolish, one look at the chassis number and how the ID plates are affixed is enough. Bit given what the car once was it is still worth having.
