The biggest laugh is the local Holden dealer could verify the tags!
I contacted Holden via their website and received a .pdf authenticity letter stating the following:

The following details are taken from our records.

Please note the above information reflects an example of one of our original build 1976
Holden LX Torana SLR 4 Door Sedan’s. However, this only reflects the ‘as built’ state of
your vehicle, according to the Vehicle Identification Number provided. Should you wish to
establish that the vehicle has the original components; it should undergo an independent
check for authenticity. This can be performed by most reputable car clubs.
If anyone here wants one; you just contact Holden, provide your VIN and they'll send you the info.

I notice they didn't provide the vehicle serial no. stamped on the chassis and when I replied to the email they stated: Please be advised that the letter of authenticity you received in our previous correspondence from Customer Care Specialist contained all information Holden has available for the VIN number you provided. Should you wish to discuss matters further, please do not hesitate to contact us on 1800 033 349, quoting the above mentioned reference number.
I left it at that.
