The alleged charges  of rugby star were made public for some reason,along with some other names and "implications" of others allegedly involved?

 

No names have been released to public as yet concerning this matter (muscle car fraud) , other than by those  that chose to do so ,some which may well hold merit,some which may well not? (of which the posts have been hidden,hence the other thread in which is made quite clear regarding names etc.).

Carmichael Hunt is public knowledge, these people are not, and the fact is, it was made clear not to name names. I can tell you now we didn't just make up the rule because we were bored or felt like banning someone, it was made for good reason.

As for Michael Jackson I believe it got out of hand and thats why it was closed up, but I could be wrong.

As far as publicity goes, the whole Hunt thing is on a much much larger scale, the media have ensured the whole country knows, as they do.

A meme on an Internet forum "joking" about it would surely have no influence on the situation.

No offence to any body at all on this place

This thread was started because a ring of enthusiasts doing things that was blatantly publicized in the Media which was contrary 

to certain "laws" were "busted" doing such things.

 

No names were mentioned in the report and that was about the end of the story, until VCS started another thread specifically saying

that it was not a "name and shame" type thing otherwise Admin would remove certain posts in regard to the matter.

 

No one has been named publicly yet in the whole 'show' of things surrounding this matter  and there was a link provided in VCS thread to report or otherwise provide information should they feel the need they had some worthwhile information without making it public knowledge.

I am pretty disappointed in VCS here - they start a thread ............

 

Maybe there is a lot going on behind the scenes

Would you really want them to disclose information that could lead to others undersuspicion destroying evidence that could be related to other matters that have not yet been made public?

 

What if they released information that led to evidence being tampered/destroyed over the theft of a forum members vehicle?

I don't think anybody would be impressed with that.

It's not just the forum there are legal implications.

I was reading about Karmichael Hunt today and the article said there will be no further comment as legal action is in progress.

AFAIK you can get done for contempt of court if you print anything that can influence pending court proceedings.

Pretty sure that is relevant in this case too.

By naming names you are potentially influencing any future legal action.

Theres no gaurantee any of the info posted on the forum (past or present) in relation to the case is genuine or not 

 

Perhaps supposedly related posts from years back were nothing but bogus to begin with

I am pretty disappointed in VCS here - they start a thread - seem to be really proactive in wanting to reduce the crime - actively ask for information

 

We here on the forum are more that happy to help - welcome them - and am guessing - provide information.............

Maybe there is a lot going on behind the scenes - but am now wondering if they were being proactive and genuinely trying to stamp out this type or crime - or really lazy policing and hoping a post would give them all the answers

 

Maybe a touch of acknowledgement or feedback from VCS would help

Ok, just to answer a couple of questions, you can be assured the person who started the VCS thread is legit.

They have been watching the thread and others along the same lines, there is a reason they haven't replied or updated the thread but I'm sure they will in their own good time.

Like any arm of the Law, they aren't going to discuss open investigations.

 

We probably wont get any 'updates' until the hammer has dropped.

 

From my understanding, the Vic Pol thread was started to allow anyone with concerns about their vehicles authienticity  an avenue to persue.  Particularly anyone who has/had purchased a car or parts from (Mr nameless) in Victoria, who just happened to have 10 or so desirable Toranas in their shed.

 

Video of that shed is in the news story. I think it is also what tipped some forum members off regarding the identity of the accused.

 

So if you know who it is, & you have bought/sold a car to this person, i think the Vic Pol would like to hear from you.  Just maybe YOUR S-Pak is now someone elses XU-!.

 

In the mean time, let the wheels of industry turn. Have some patience.
