I have a molar two post and have put a car on backwards, mine doesn't say not. But front and rear arms are identical on mine.

I have put many cars on hoists over the years, both forward and backward. Should be ok, just keep an eye on the tipping point. Front arms may be shorter to help with the extra engine weight(less leverage). I'm presuming it is a screw type. Don't get underneath until you are sure it is rock solid and make sure you use the locking mechanism!

I've done it before and used 1 leg as an engine crane..............no problem.....................but as said above, take care. What is the hoist rated at?

2 post hoist here at home/work, says we should only put a car on one way, but most of the time its on the other way, dads had this hoist for 20yrs and never had a problem.as long as its balance point is still close to the centre everything will be fine
