seems as car tunnel and side start to be bit messy with folds/brakelines directly below the (rather widely spaced) rails,

..have to bring holes/bolts inwards an about 3 inches, at rear ends, to mount to the floor.

used 3mm square, and 5mm flat for backing plates/captive nut

neatened front mounts

IMG_0287x.jpg

hacked off rear mounts

IMG_0307x.jpg

prepared mounts

IMG_0305x.jpg

IMG_0315x.jpg

IMG_0316x.jpg

trial mount begins

IMG_0317x.jpg

shows how much longer front inner bolt needs to be, to reach under car floor to captive nut/plate

IMG_0290x.jpg

doesn't interfere with foot space very thankfully.

IMG_0321x.jpg

about a 1/3 finished, but getting there

cheers shiney! i'll tell you it felt good just rolling it around again, can't imagine what it's like to jump in and drive!

bit dusty in pics above. gave it a wipe with micro fibre cloth, and took some pics at "magic hour", will put up.

not washing her properly till glass in. (well, that's my excuse for being slack anyways!)

..maybe because i used a $40 spray gun and it has orange peel the size of walnuts.. it's never going to look like glass. hahaha

(and for $400.. no one expected it too! ;) )

Don't wash it until you you can drive it. Otherwise you will end up with water trapped in all sorts of places and the rust monkeys will be hard at work.

I can't remember if your paint was enamel, but a weekend rubbing it back with wet and dry and a good polish will make your paint stand out.

cheers shiney, didn't think of that. (hadn't water washed it due to it not having glass or rubber kit, so lucks a fortune!)

am looking forward to the rubbing back and polish. normally an odd thing to say! but hopefully get to see it in full vigor

and, frOck. so i put in the shocks today

told they are for lowered and standard.

they raised the car/front another cm!?? lowered... not really! arghh!

am looking out for shocks like the ye old ones in pic, tiny monroe riders.. or alike

(just a heads up, if anyone else is planning to put cheap webco shocks in... make sure you have UC lower control arms, which have the wider opening. or else you are going to have to take whole fooking suspension apart to install or replace shockers... or?? have to cut hole bigger! shocks are WIDE!)

answer kindly given, cheers yel!!
______________
"Yes, that is a HQ-HZ TH400 T-bar which will shift the LH shift trimatic. Just look for a RH shift trimatic rod and the shifter selector that bolts top the box and swap it over to the left (may have to bend it slightly), or if not get one from a UC 6cyl Torana with T-bar as these were mostly left shift and the T-bar itself is all but the same except for the stuff at the top to hold the shift indicator. VB Commodore T-bar looks very different.

Give Greg at Classicozwreck a call, he'd probably have what you need. Also grab the wiring harness too, it'll plug straight into your harness

thanks kyle! getting there

(taking it on "panel by panel" etc, as recommended by others here, so as not to get daunted by the mammoth task! worked a treat.)
