heya mecho

went for the cheap as POLYPROPYLENE carpet, more like "fake" carpet.
as in.. is thin. about 3/4 cm height, as opposed to real carpet which is cm or so.
fitted ok actually.
but i made it fit "good" with self tapping screws here and there.
(which i would of done anyways to stop movement/creases)

have tried to find answer but so far can't.
am wondering about the rocker cover to air cleaner "breather" hose,
is it just a hose?
or do you use a pcv valve also, so vapor can only go the one way?

Just means it needs bit of water under tyre for burnouts....
LOL... When I was young and did stupid things like that, I actually fitted a washer bottle in the boot of a car, which squirted on the rear tyres with the push of a button... but then I tried pumping diesel or something similar through it and the whole thing melted and made a huge mess!
Then I discovered that if you have a real engine under the bonnet to start with, you don't need shit like that!
am wondering about the rocker cover to air cleaner "breather" hose,
Very early engines just had a breather that let the crankcase fumes vent to atmosphere, but apparently that was killing the whales or something so they invented positive crankcase ventilation.
You're supposed to have one of those grommets in each rocker cover (sorry, can't be bothered looking back for a pic). The PCV valve, which is connected to manifold vacuum, goes in one side to suck the fumes out and burn them in the motor, the other side is/was just an open hose and originally ran to the factory air cleaner so fresh air could get in one side of the motor and get sucked out the other.
Some aftermarket chrome air cleaners used to come with a plastic bung so you could still attach this hose, but I haven't bought one for so long I wouldn't know whether that's still the case?

cheers andrew! open hose.
(had bought 2 pcv valves just in case. got a spare now)
on drivers side cover will run open hose to air cleaner , (and drill/grommet the bottom of cleaner.. as suspect my aftermarket won't have it.)
and pass side cover with a pcv'd hose to the back of carb

cheers nick, is coming along now, thank gosh!
brand is Tego
fit very good, apart from the bolt holes being to small for the huge torana bolts. had to be drilled about 1mm wider diameter to accomodate

mmm, pretty! (and pretty small lol)
hot run tested and ready to go... supposedly/hopefully!!

the proffessionals' kit of choice?
not for $20 it's not!

(my fan was dead. new fan was advertised as being 220watt, when arrived says 120.
not going to complain, runs bloody powerfully.)

"Professionals" don't use kits (a bit like "Real men don't need instructions" as Tim 'TheTool Man' Taylor used to say).
120 watt is only 10 amps, that sounds low for a thermo fan but if you say it's pushing enough air then fair enough.
LOL, you actually got "253" on the rocker covers... how uncommonly honest of you!

wasn't a home improvement fan myself, more of a seinfeldian
and he wouldn't know an engine from an arse (kinda like me!)
ha! lucky i didn't go for the 80w fans on offer!
myself, i would never stick 308 covers on, to pretend/falsify, though not fussed what others do.
(..as for the stickers on car.. well, just looks so darn pretty, and is just my personal favorite look of an slr replica)
