Hook it up so that she runs , try not to get too bogged down in legistics , most of that "anti pollution" shit was just to try and make engines run on fresh air without the experts even knowing that since day dot of the conception of the internal combustion engine that an engine requires fuel and air within  certain guide lines to run to this day , they can not get around the guidelines of that , she might be a bit stinky when when first fired up ,but when on the road the best thing sometimes of which most of us don't know about is a good cobweb clean down ? :) , sadly we are not allowed to do that any more , but you would be surprised  what a hot run can do.

can't see # 9 but sounds right ? :)

heya eunuch, have got my head around it pretty much.

and, kinda cheating now that i'm using stock setup too, as opposed to the holley. all pretty simple as have diagrams to follow.

(as for the "why" stuff is needed, still have no clue about!!)

that said, i don't have a solenoid, nor "spark delay valve"? and also are going to try it without thermal vac switches,

just do a basic setup for now. and if she runs with that initial setup, excellent!!

also, not hard to track down and install those parts if decide are needed.

(well, maybe the delay valve might be hard to source, aint any on offer on ebay for this motor, nor many discussions about them on forum)

anyways, hope to be starting her soon!

first am fitting new brake lines and mounting the calipers, installing the full exhaust, a new fan and rocker covers,

then it's on with the carb and fit all lines..

and then try to get her started!!

______

and yes, 9 was on front of carb to canister. from another photo i forgot to add.

Most of that pollution shite is for cold starting emissions...ended up hindering more than it helped so don't worry about it effecting drivability.

Keep plugging away at it.

gtr, sounds good to me! keep it simple and looking about right, as you said.

and not long now till test fire.

why i'm not doing that first i don't know lol

guess??.. i want brakes, exhaust and fan and etc all set up first

hoping that it wont take long to do those few things at all, a week all going well

and then really can sit in car and start her up!

You and me both shiney! :)

Slight delay, can't stop the fuel pipe into carby from leaking.
I wiggle as doing it up but still leaks from the brass to nut/internal.
(Not the nut to carby thread)
Darn it!

Ow now I wanna "pop over" too... trouble is, it's a 9 hour drive each way!

I guess I'll have to make do with the video version...

my oath you'll have to settle for the video andrew!

for me, even just "popping over" to bendigo for a 9hr total drive one day last year for UC torana seats bloody RUINED my love of driving for a fookin month i tells ya!

(hilarious part.. i didn't even use the bloody seats :( )

and daz.. MUCH appreciated, and

to be honest, quite likely you'll get a message as i'll need all the help i can get.

even the most simplest thing wrong/not connected will be beyond my understanding

..let alone anything mildy complicated

(that said, have feared asking for help,  as.. no matter how hard i try to be prepared..

soooo many times have NOT been ready to start her, yet thought i was,  as was 'missing this/wrong that".. and don't want to waste anyone's generous time!)

will get the parts needed, let my old neighbor assist if he's well/up for it, and see where at :)

*NOTE, this is a two step(pieces) bailey rubber install, in regards to EACH upright bailey channel rubber

NOT as professional as a single piece.. but easier to feed window into and guarantees window wont fall out!
REASON: i found.. it's hard to feed window into rails with baileys run from full top to bottom from the get go

front and rears, (the reg/winder is moved and bolted in to place later.. AFTER have fed window into bailey channel)

(rear door: install the small 3/4 window with the rubber)

drop window in. sit on floor
do door belts first.

(rear door: feed and bolt in the removable side rail/upright bracket )

with the glass in the door, RESTING on floor.
mark with a texta where reaches height to on each channel.

install bailey channels, from top of door and going down...
only going to an inch HIGHER than texta mark! (cut CLEANLY at this point)

lift glass half way into door, feeding into bailey rubbers,
..and slide reg into door and on to window rail, (with reg/winder set at lowest/open)

THEN set into place and tighten window reg/winder nuts.

then RAISE window to closed position. allow glue to set for an hour.
(if you haven't glued in.. leave overnight to "form" the bailey channel. move on to next door)

next..
run bailey channel from texta point down to the bottom of channel.
lower window, and allow time to form/press into place, (or glue to set.)

done.

------
extra paint coats can make door belts a bitch to fit, grease them first.
and check belts length first, may need to trim ends so as to not scratch paint.

------------
see other peoples threads/advice also!  for example here..

refitting windows SUCKED!!!

did not enjoy that puzzle.

hmm, how hard can front and rear windscreens be?

will look into/find out i guess.

-----

i don't have the "corner" pieces. suspect might be good to wait till do?  4 front, 2 rear i think

research threads time.. again.

"I wanna get a new headlining but dont wanna take out my rear windscreen as theyre hard to get and it appears rust free in that area. (touch wood...) So wondering, is it possible to put a new headlining in with the rear windscreen still in?"

"NO. The headlining wraps up under the windscreen rubber. "

---------useful info! headlining it is.

_____
not quite the posting of me trying to run an engine on petrol for first time..
gave me time grow balls to do the rubbers/ windows anyways, which had been ..avoiding!
