More an orbital sander than a spinning sander if you know what I mean.
Still shitty and burn out after one resto.

Good work dude good seeing you having a go at cutting the guards, I know if I was fitting flares to my LX I wouldn't be doing my own but good on you. Paint and panel I'm leaving to a shop for the most part. Being an auto sparky I can manage the rest not a problem, just never had a knack for painting haha.

That ozito isn't ment to spin. I had one, they start spinning then you put them on the surface and they just vibrate and slowly turn the disc.

who says i have knack for painting haha
(more like just not the 2 to 7 grand to pay for someone else to do it, as want a tory to drive in a year or so; not fkn 3-7)
have sprayed before (acrylic though), went very ok ..except for prep was sub-par.. and paid price a year later.
am glad to hear am auto elec. anytime can do job yourself (or, have mate who is qualified such and such etc..) is a massive bonus

Don't want to sound like im putting a negative on this
But im doing a bare metal resto and paint job and expect to spend 10-15k{closer to 15k} on body and paint work
Not counting the 3.5k on chemical dipping that ive already spent
2-7k sounds cheap how much do you expect to spend on paint job and how long do you expect it to last
Have you talked to anyone about painting over the top of what you have
Would love to hear opions on this
Cheers

4 litres high build primer,
6 litres 2k enamel ultra blue,
4 litres clear,
24 litres of thinners,
2 litres wax and grease remover,
10 sheets 240wet,
10 sheets 600wet,
6 scotch brite pads,
6 paper cone strainers,
1 roll 2" tape.
1 roll 1" tape
was quoted $1300-$1400 for this in pakenaham Auto paints.
not sure if missed anything, was the list i gave off top of my head when went in.
anyways, expect to be paying cost, whatever that is. long way off at that unfortunately. :(
and have spoken about painting over the primer am using with them, bought if off them to be sure.
as said, am not grinding car back to metal.

What brand are you using if I may ask? Good for you doing it yourself I am going this route aswell and am happy to pay PPG Deltron prices, cos paints ain't paints.
Is that a single pak primer?

got off arse and took my blue boot and a black panel to paint shop, says thinks is actually acrylic, and 20 years old or so and is just rock hard.
so plans changed for my car. cheaper and easier ultra blue acrylic it is, (minus cost of isolator coat), and coat or two of clear, and will just have to take care to cut and polish it as often as required.
fyi: pakenham stock hichem(NOT the "iso-free" stuff) and d.n.a.
