We can now wear Nail Polish Craig.

otherwise you might chip your nailpolish.

Edit:-

One of those Battery Rattle Guns would be great in an instance,

where you are going out in the good gear and don't want to break out the sweat changing a wheel, hey.  :furious:

Getting your nails done is expensive these days didn't you know, besides its cheaper to buy an impact wrench than continually getting your nails done...so there  :thebird:

Just for interest sake. What can the average man torque wheels nuts up to with a wheel brace?

hmm interesting question.

need to get the torque wrench out. id say at a guess 500nm would be easy done?.

the wheel shops use air rattle guns then tighten by hand after that, i wouldnt trust any gun on its own, would still be going over them by hand.

Great Find Wayno,

Also a good point about the Manual Torque setting guy's.

I call these types of help - Speed Winders

So really, these are an aid to fill in time where it would take us longer to do.  B)

Waiting for Jason's Torque setting for a Manual Job too

Yeah mate I did. I read 2 reviews on it and they seem pretty positive. 2 year warranty too.

I've got an old torque wrench here that only has ft/lbs. I put the setting to 100 ft/lbs which I think is equivalent 136Nm. I put my rims back on yesterday and done them up with the wheel brace. Surprisingly I got about 1/8th of a turn before the rod came out of the torque wrench. So i'm guessing that my wheel nuts were torqued up to about 120nm with the wheel brace yesterday. :o

I figure you'd have to be the terminator to get 500nm with a wheel brace.

he he

or we need to put more effort in.  :furious:

Every Rattle Gun should have a Warning:-

"Check Vehicle Wheel Nut Torque's with a Torque Brace / Wrench"

Like a flatter battery could do a nut with less torque.

180nm is up there.

Edit:-

So this seems, that a Rattle Gun can over Torque/ tighten Wheel Nuts Hey.  :clappin: Crikie

Stud snappers, over tightening even.  :furious:

Not quite Jason,

I use to tighten Ring-feeders to 1200nm, it is just the length of the handle,

also there are what is called - Torque Multipliers.

500nm is beyond the terminator lol

380nm is not bad for a generic impact gun. Will do wheels with ease.

The torque is for undoing... not tightening wheel nuts

I still use a bar and/or torque wrench for that

Got my Rockwell impact wrench yesterday. I'm pretty impressed how it works and i'm quite scared now its gonna snap a stud. Changing a rim is done so easily now.

Looks not bad. Maybe the money you save buying it is what rockwell would have spent on the bloke deciding the colour scheme lol.

Gees we used to torque Merc wheel nuts up to 110 NM. 120 for the bigger models. I would imagine that alloys on a torana wouldn't be much different.

Funnily I used one of those wrenches the other day to remove the Weld Wheels and fit the Simmons.  They work very well :-)
