If a 253 or any V8 is not P plater friendly in NSW you guys are jibbed, sucks big time. I seriously doubt a blue 202 will even smell the fumes of a 253. Going back few years I use to have a VC SLE 202 and this thing was gutless as my stocko 77 253 SLR did circles around it. The black fuel injected motor was a bit of a weapon in its day, in fact my mechanic is putting one in his FB ute as he swears that it was quicker of mark than a comparable model 308.

i know :(, its only beacsue its not original motor and the 308 is over 20% in power to the original motors in the uc hatchbacks :(

That red 202 with trimatic for $1000 looks the goods but at $1000 I think he has a lot of crickets around his house. I would offer $500 max. Last week a complete worked running 253 and trimatic out of a torana with almost everything to complete a conversion into a torana including a v8 alternator bracket and alternator was advertised for $750 on Gummie, not sure what it sold for but comparing the 202 at $1000 and a complete conversion 253 at $750... well you do the math.

It's ok UC Kid,takes a bit of gettin used to this place, don't mind the sort of way things go off topic a bit, just the way it is.

Plenty of helpful stuff around here despite the humor :)

We all know the only way to cut up crocs on the river is with one of these :)

Hi Jordan,
Talking from a parents perspective, I would suggest to my kids,
Keep the torana as is and maintain rego in your name.
start a relationship with an insurance company, even if it's through a car club or historic scheme.
Be content with not driving the uc but by being passenger.
get hold of a small manual late model cheap car, a festiva, maza 2 , civic,
Learn to drive that properly and be patient.
Yu hae years of driving.
Probably not what you want to hear.

^ frOck that.

If you spend the time and money building your first car, you will be a lot more inclined to look after it than you will if you buy a $1000 FWD shitbox.

Forget about the 5L, put a stockish 173/202 and 4 speed in the Hatch and spend a bit of time working on the other areas of the car; brakes, suspension, bodywork etc etc. Walk before you run.

I can say this, because 8 years ago I was in a very similar boat!

Give it a few weeks and you will weed out the idiots on this forum who post useless crap as they don't have social life and aim to get 1 million posts so ignore these wastes of space and hopefully they will give up one day, other than a few regular village idiots most of the blokes here are ok.
