Thieving mongrels hopefully it's found quickly and "The Lesson Learnt" don't leave things like this out over night/s if possible or be willing to sleep inside the treasure......

It does sound like they are very naive about muscle car security.

I wouldn't leave my Hilux out over night let alone a rare muscle car.
Not their fault, but you have to be aware of these things.
I hope the get it back in one piece.

You can't leave the family car in the driveway these days and know it will be there in the morning.

Ever since government controlled agencies like the police went from public servants to revenue raisers this has been a massive issue.
Its far more lucrative to put 50 officers on a roadside pulling drivers up and bretholizing them to find 1 in every 1000 .0001 over the limit than it is to actually put a beat out there and pull up criminals.
Cheers.

It's not as bad as it was in the 80's, no cops on the beat patrolling; supermarket car parks, beaches, nature lookouts even cemeteries in Sydney were a paradise for car thieves, mostly joyriders. Stupidly many would get busted because when they saw a cop they'd gun it and draw attention to themselves so they could have good stories to tell their bum buddies in gaol.
At least now with more advanced anti-theft measures, GPS trackers and no. plate recognition it's making it harder for them.

Sounds like Sydney in the 80's is CQ/FNQ in 2015?

Car thieves should get turkish torture they woulld never touch another car again
They get off scott free except for the ones that crash and burn but then that is the fault of the police force for either chasing them or not depending on the circumstances.
We should be sending a message to the scum in our society that their actions will not be tolerated.
For some of them it is a lifestyle that they are allowed to live and they shouldn't be.

In my late teens and early 20s there was a spot near where I lived that would get at least 1 or 2 big Toranas dumped every weekend.
I believe Toranas & Monaros were among the top 5 stolen cars in the 80's, then came a Commodore frenzy for thieves until the Subarus came along.

Yeah I was reading a story about car theft numbers the other day, I think someone posted a link on here somewhere.
Top 3 were VE, VZ, VX.
I think there were 2 Ford models in the top 10.
Even the thieves want something reliable

Here you go; leave your car at the airport unlocked with keys in it.

These guys couldn't be more stupider if they tried.

Looking at the tags on them 90% of those keys are hire cars
Wouldn't say stupid - they just dont give a rats arse
They are only interested in getting on the plane
Such is the way of the FIFO workforce we have inherited
You can bet your bottom dollar the Malloo ute is locked away safely at home with the keys hidden

Yeah but when you return from the flight then have to call the cops? I guess that's the next guy's problem.

left outside for 48 hours... no room in their no doubt huge garage ?... insurance job.
They expected the loud engine to be the alarm system?

Not sure of the back story; being the father's Sunday driver my guess is they inherited it and their own cars are probably worth more.
