Hi All,

I am trying to help a friend of mine. He recently purchased the set and wants to know if they are genuine XU-1 or not. I know the manifold is genuine LC XU-1 but the carbies I cannot see any serial numbers on them.

Can someone help please on where do I find the serial numbers?

Phillip

Remove the entire air filter assy from the carbs. There should be a code number stamped into the face of the carby air cleaner mounting flanges.

A128 on the two he checked so I guess he is right they are from a LC XU1.
Thanks for your help.

In theory there should be two A coded carbs and one B coded or two B coded and one A coded. I think the jury is still out on which combination is correct.

Cheers

Dave.

Your welcome Phillip.

Theoretically if there are two A coded and one B coded then the  B coded carb should have the fitting for the vacuum advance pipe. The two A coded carbs should have their vacuum ports plugged.

Cheers

Dave.
