Dont have a video of the ad, but to sum it up, old mate is parked on the driveway of his shop at the end of the ad in his old F truck, I think it is. The footage is sped up double speed as it took a while to generate any smoke. The sound effects were dubbed over and it actually sounds like something from the burnout comp at the Summernats.

And thats it....

There's a few goodie two shoes around the place that get a lot of personal satisfaction out of policing these things.

On the bright side free publicity, does he do 265/15s ?

1 complaint ,i doubt

my wife works for VW & a few years back ,Germany (The greater VW )sent an advert for the golf GTI drifting ect …,it was pretty cool by the way...They couldn't air the add as it is illegal to promote really awesome driving apparently hahaha.

in all seriousness ,it apparently promotes bad driving behaviour .and thats why

Surly for a complaint to stand you would have to be breaking the law?

I don't see a problem with an ad clearly stating the tyres they sell don't grip. There's plenty of rubbish like that coming out of China.

Not necessarily braking the law. That smokey could've been laid on private property or on a racetrack

According to the law any area, whether private, residential, or public, that is not locked behind a fence of atleast 8 foot, is classed as a public access area, and in QLD atleast any public access area holds the same road rules as the road.

Here in QLD you technically cant move a car around your back yard after a few drinks, Its DUI and you can be hit with the regular fines for such. And its illegal to do a burnout in your shed, etc...

Its not enforced very strictly, but putting it on the telly is a bit silly.

Cheers.

Pretty much yeah.

Its unlikely, moreso if your on the piss bashing around the paddock and run over someone, you can be done for DD reckless driving etc ontop of whatever injuries you cause old mate, bodily harm, grevious bodily harm, manslaughter, etc. Plus you will probably get the car conficsated for three months under the hooning laws.

Cheers.

It's also against the law to reverse your car out of the driveway. There are hundreds of dim witted laws that aren't policed.

I know, im just pointing out that technically what old mate was doing was most likely illegal, unless the tyre shop has a 8" or higher fence around the compound, which it may well have, im not familiar with the site.

Just another case of "legal stuff" gone mad,yes in QLD it was a monetry fine for doing such things on "private property" and it was a stupid "law".

In the case of the advert...how the frok do they know this that and whatever regarding the circumstances surrounding the "advert".

It may well have been done on "private' property and dubbed and over dubbed...it may well have been the real thing (which would be better).

Who the frok these people think they are that shut this stuff down and close another small "show".

Never got any rubber from them, (never had the skinies),  because they start up shop next door to the shop that i deal with for 20 plus years.

Nevertheless..that is frokin bullshit that  they can do such things despite what ever quality or what ever.

AN INTOXICATED Rosedale farmer who crashed a quad bike carrying four young children has avoided a stay in jail.

Police Prosecutor Sergeant Barry Stevens said Smith had taken the four children - aged four, five, seven and eight - on a joyride around his property after drinking about six stubbies of alcoholic cider on April 15.

Mr Sarra sentenced Smith to six months imprisonment, wholly suspended for 12 months. Smith was also disqualified from driving for six months.

I have never met the man and no doubt he is a top bloke,it is a pity that the "do gooders" have deemed some clip that is supposed to "encourage" such behavior.

What a joke...let's ban the burnouts at every other motor event world wide in the public arena because it "encourages such behavior"????

Nevertheless...the signs are coming down...probably a bit more to it but still...it would have hurt a bit.

market research clearly states...don't take eskies to the ekimos???

Think he drives a debadged white rocket..but could be wrong?
