..... na pwr .... good analogy also, always more than one side to a story.
now if we really wanted to open up a can of worms we could say something like, it is not so much about how the government gets its income , it is about how that is spent.... from recollection 2015/2016 budget, 190 billion to welfare and 53 to health, 30 to Education......
in all of the past few pages the focus has been on people rich and not so rich who contribute to our economy, there are many who do not except as a fiscal drain and there are a number who cannot through medical circumstances,. the total welfare 'mentality' needs to change as it is not sustainable, ( especially when the country is in deficit and paying big interest annually) . The various governments since 1983 (approx) ( when superannuation wasmade compulsory) have been pushing ( albeit very poorly) towards all people currently under 40 being self funded retirees, so no pension as such... makes you wonder?
Personally i do think small business does it tough and that bigger industry has more scope to minimise tax, although i would love to actually see how much unreported income ( cash in hand jobs or living off the store goods goes on)
i would think lots of small businesses pull 3000-5000 a year in cashies..... which maybe the payback to the richer folks claim on tax breaks... who knows
anyway , i don't have the easy answer to tax nor to social welfare reform, so i appreciate all efforts from those people who work hard to try and tackle these problems
Ps if i was Ricky Muir i would want my name taken off the front of this thread, as it has morphed somewhat Good thread .... with lots of good insights
