Once Ricky is removed the motorists are back to having no input or voice.

Do you think the Minister for Transport will pick up the ball? Yeah right!

The slimy suit wearers have covered their tracks so that this type of 'inconvenience' doesn't happen again & the voting public took it straight up the clacker without a fight!

Riddle me this: Why is vehicle registration soooooo expensive in this country? ( just wait until the tobacco excise dries up & see what they hit next. Yep, you guessed it )  Why are there different classes of rego based on cylinders? Why do we have to pay rego on every car we have instead of having 1 set of number plates that we can transfer from car to car on any given day of the week?

Maybe i should run for PM. Oh wait ..... that door is closed!

Ricky has certainly improved with experience in the job, I hope he is returned after the next election.

The next best party for those outside of Ricky's electorate or even put at number 2 would be the Liberal Democrats, have a look on their policies for motorcycles, lifestyle choices, traffic laws.

Actually if you look at his track record, voting history and some things he has tried to move into the senate he has done a lot.

Sadly, one person in the upper house can only do so much, anyone expecting to instantly be allowed blowers hanging out the bonnet and drag slicks just cause one lad got elected is either a dreamer or has less than no knowlege of the political system in Aus.

Cheers.

Politics is a crazy game .Many a person has entered with the best intentions. Only to find that the dealing that needs to be done to get things happening leaves them hamstrung in many instances .This is what has created the situation politics is now in .The "new " laws will see the likes of Ricky gone .It will be major parties only . The  only way that any thing can happen is of course if it is within Party lines and from the big end of town .That is the way they want it .

Ricky is learning every day .Just like all of us .Don't have to be educated to have support and do good things in politics .You do have to have good people around you though

I should clarify that.
Self education and mentorship from coworkers and friends certainly has helped me.

The crap in the classroom didn't.

Dick Smith didnt finish High School.

Hes done pretty well.

Its good to see different opinions in government.

However is 300 odd votes enough to say you are representing a significant portion of the population?

Will be happy to stand corrected on the number of 1st primary votes he got.

No thats about right.

And I agree.

But has it been bad for the country?

Its not that people shoudl be able to be elected with so few primary votes.... Its just how frOcking refreshing and nice has it been to have someone human somewhere in the vacinity of politics....

^^ Agree with you Bomber ..   He is no where near as sharp dressed,  or as smooth a talker as Malcolm Talkbull,  But regardless of what they/we pay Muir, I believe he is there to support a group of people in Australia, whose voice is not being heard.

And if possible,  I will vote for him again..

Considering Albert Einstein failed school, I would consider that a pretty dumb sentiment.

He might be ok at representing the motoring community but after speaking with him at a rally some time

ago,I found him almost opinion-less when asked about some of the major political issues at the time. I honestly

don't think he knew anything about what was going on politically out side his own little bubble.

Chaosweaver: That vid you posted fails to mention OTHER things that make Australian housing so expensive. Like overseas buyers - and the amount of taxes paid on new properties. NOt to mention our exorbitant land prices: several years ago I bought a house and land package in Craigieburn - 40 minutes out from Melbourne. The block alone (about 14x30 meters) was $150K! That has nothing to do with negative gearing.

Negative gearing allows average Joe's like me to own an investment property and thus provide for our eventual retirement (I don't count on super because the ***** politicians keep changing the rules). Simply put, if your investment is taking a LOSS (which is what negative gearing means) then that loss should be tax deductible. If you make a PROFIT then you'll be taxed on that.

As for the manufactured outrage about how rich people benefit most from negative gearing - guess what? Rich people have more money to invest than working-class drones and will ALWAYS make more profit from any type of investment than the rest of us. Taking one of the few decent investment opportunities away from middle-class earners won't change that.
