Hi,

Just about to go looking for a suspected sketchy piston in the above...does anyone know if these are like Toranas where dropping the K frame is the easiest way to get the engine out?...or do you pull it out from the top, with an engine lifter?

( p..s I don't know that they feature the same style K frame, so that's why I'm asking )

Thanks in advance

Yeah similar to a Torana apart from the suspension and lack of K-frame bushes. You'll need to unbolt the struts either at the top mount or where they meet the knuckle, I prefer at the knuckle.

Turns out they aren't a water pump:

Will have to degas the A/C. Please secure the steering wheel with the drivers seat belt if you do disconnect the rack so it doesn't free spin and break the clock spring. You could go the other way and take the motor out through the top but access to some bolts would be a total bugger. I find this way is incredibly easy, most of it can be done by yourself. I should also warn you that the 6 bolts holding the frame to the body are one use only, if you try and reuse them you may cross thread them and trust me it's not a fun process to get them out.
