G'day

my problem here is I have the twin barrel stromberg which requires a throttle cable (or some serious prefabiration to use the old linkages)

I'm just wondering if anyone has any good working setups that give the accelerator pedal fairly unrestricted movement over the full range of of throttle (open to closed).

I understand obviously I'll be connecting the cable throttle body on the carby but with specifics or even pictures if anyone can be bothered how do I go about this at the firewall end.

Any input, suggestions or ideas are greatly appreciated!

Cheers

LC2250 i dont know if this is any good to you but this is what i have on my

for a 4 barrel. Here is the pic of the fire wall. Lets hope it works.

Thats the sort of thing I'm after ... does that work well for you in regards to how far you move your foot in relation to how much it opens up the throttle if that makes sense?

Any chance of an enlarged version of that pic?

Otherwise Cheers

What about using a LH/LX or UC pedal and cable etc. that way you know it has good travel etc.

a mate has set up a hz style in his lj, the hz pedal will have to be screwed to the fire wall, drill a hole in the fire wall and file it so its square and the cable clips into that. its not a bad conversion to do.

This picture probably won't help you much but I have a cable with the mounting attached to the booster bracket.

thats what i have done on the gtr, the Hz style and commodore pedels are the sameish, you have to use a v8 throttle cable tho not the 6cyl one, the pedel dont matter wether its a 6 or 8......... best set up i have had the previously mentioned one i have had on a 4 door it was pretty crap compared to the hz/commo style

Here's some pics of my set-up, It's just an Universal cable which is adjustable. Bought it from Auto-One for $25, it has a thread at each end of the cable with 2 nuts so it can be locked off. All I did was drill a hole in the firewall to fit the thread of the cable through and tightened a nut on each side of the firewall, Then made a bracket to suit the position of my throttle linkage and then put a hole in the bracket to fit the cable through and locked it off with the two nuts. It's a really cheap and simple set-up which is very smooth and allows you to adjust the cable to bring your pedal higher or lower depending on where you need it to have full acceleration.

Cheers
