Looks not too bad to me?

Do it up.

http://www.holdspares.com/ seem to always have toranas to get bits off.  Some don't like them, I found they were alright?  Plenty of stuff on gumtree too.

Looks better than mine-

Collecting bits to fix it, just need to clear out the shed and get my ass into gear.

Attached File  DSC_05892.jpg   41.3K   5 downloads There are some nice bits out there still.

If you jump onto ezyreg with your license number and the rego number you can see if you can simply pay it.

Just checked one of mine that expired in 2002, looks like I can still just make the payment and hit the road...

Damn NSW sucks, you guys don't realize how good you've got it in VIC, we get three months to renew after which the rego is permanently cancelled and we're up for the whole blue slip BS again, plus if we want to reuse the plates we have to pay to have them reissued, even when you've had them in your hand the whole time.

Plus the rego gets backdated to the original expiry date so even if you do pay three months late, you still have to pay for the three months that you haven't been allowed to drive it!

Sorry for the rant, by sheer coincidence I just received one of my rego renewals in the mail... another $950... and considering it only did 270 km between pink slips that's over $3 per kilometre, I am so sick of being gouged by the bloody government!

PITA isn't it, but priceless when youre driving a toy that rarely sees action.

We seem to be in the middle in Vic. That ezyreg payment I posted about is SA, I can still pay that rego even though I moved back to Vic many many years ago!

Vic has a similar 3 months then start again with RWC inspection and complete new registration, but our annual renewal fees are slightly better than yours thankfully, and no annual inspections down here.

SA is the rego system that every other state needs!

The ACT system isn't too bad either from memory, pretty sure they allow you to renew up to twelve months late and the rego starts from the day you pay, plus you can do quarterly or half yearly, so it's easy enough just to register a car or bike for the summer and save the money for the rest of the year.

In NSW we have "Street Rod" plates (for pre 1950's cars) and "Historic" plates (for cars older than 30 years) but only safety-related modifications (like fitting seat belts) are allowed on Historic rego and it's all logbook'd and very restrictive as to how much you can actually drive each year.

I'd be happy just to have a "Modified" plate scheme like VIC.

"Historic" plates (for cars older than 30 years) but only safety-related modifications

Known as 'club rego' to most. It will depend on the club as to what they will allow; the stricter ones only accept modifications that are consistent with the year range of the car, i.e. you can't have 17 inch rims if that was not an option for the years it was released.

I have seen some that flaunt the rules, technically the RTA want them to be as close to 'factory' as possible, of course safety upgrades would be allowed.

it's all logbook'd and very restrictive as to how much you can actually drive each year.

The driving is restricted to sanctioned club events and maintenance/repair trips. If you want to go to an event you can contact your club to have it sanctioned, most oblige if it's a car show, etc.

You are not allowed to use the car for weddings, etc.

If you wanna fix it it's by no means gone.
It's very fixable but if your paying your gonna pay a lot.
I fix my own cars so if it was up for sale I'd look at buying it myself. I'll throw 5k into the ring of these clowns and thier bidding war.

Yeah I stuffed my back a few years ago and had to get a op and a low paying job. I struggle to move so I was never going to be motivated to get it going or have the cash now so sold it to a good mate who has always wanted it.

Yeah it is sad in a way mate but my mate will do a good job and it will be another Torana on the road. If I kept it probably would never made it

It hasn't been registered for over 10 years doe anyone know if it would have to go over regency? I live in South Australia

Regency is your best friend... get in there, sign and pay the rego...unless things have REALLY changed, they wont care about an inspection

Ok ill have a look sometime through the week
