As I mentioned yesterday about the variations in the inspection stamps prior to 1973 I've also seen the first line of the stamp having a single number after the INSP, such as INSP 3. Others have been INSP 34, INSP 47, INSP 74. As for the later ones with 2 letters after INSP I've seen INSP FT and a few with INSP SR.
On the early style stamps the size of the font on the second row with the date can vary or be consistent within the one stamp.

These stamps are easily worn/wiped off so most of them are gone now. But once you start looking for them a few do pop up.
