Hi
The figure quoted appears to include GTRs (model 82911) ordered with the XU-1 performance option.

Hi Fly
If the LC XU-1 was considered to be a distinct model, then the numbers for the garden variety GTR are about 700 overstated year ended Dec 1970. What's your opinion?

So Bazza ,so the garden variety GTR could be optioned with a CK or 3100X motor ?
You chose the XU-1 high performance option and got the current engine according to when you ordered it. For all practical purposes the engine change occurred around the beginning of July 1971. As you know, you got a few other performance enhancing components as part of the package.

Baz, FIA Historic Database has on their files a CAMS ammendment 1/1E LC GTR H2-1. This ammendment would have cost 300 under the CAMS rules because of the homologation of gearbox and diff ratios with what appears to the homologation of a new engine, + 200 for eligibility, 5500, What are the other 200 for Baz ?

I really have no interest in the matter, I am simply saying that on the face of it, Holden's reported numbers for GTRs don't agree. Count the GTRs for yourself and you will agree.

Well ,there ya go! I didn't know that! What was the performance option available? 186 with triples, tank ,etc.?
In simple terms, the XU1 wasn't a model on its own. It was basically a GTR with the XU1 performance package option box ticked.

Ted Bullpit's Kingswood had a worked 350 small block under the bonnet and ran high 11's.
Agree just a 202 on the column.
I've been watching as many episodes of "Kingswood Country" as I can find online gathering clues as to the exact model of the infamous Kingswood, but there's not as many as I thought I remembered.
Of the six seasons of KC, the Kingswood was only around for the first two (26 episodes) although apparently it made a comeback for the spinoff series "Bullpitt!" but I haven't had time to watch that yet.
Ted bought the "Commodore 4" in S03E01 entitled "Sale Of The Century" and from memory there was a heap of references to the Kingswood in that episode (I believe it was mentioned here that it's lucky the Kingswood was a V8 to haul around all the accessories), unfortunately that's one episode that I can't find online (there are a heap of mislabeled episodes on YT).
Another episode I can't find and need to watch is S04E21 "A Spelling Lesson", again going by memory, I think that's the one where Ted says he bought the Kingswood in 1971, making it either a HG or a HQ (HQ released 15th July 1971). Further to that, in S01E09 we see Ted holding a hubcap off the Kingswood and it looks to me like a HQ hubcap...
From the first two seasons:
S01E01 "You're not taking the Kingswood, I just shampooed the battery" (17:11)
S01E02 "You're not taking the Kingswood, I just ironed the mudflaps" (04:16)
S01E03 "You're not taking the Kingswood, I just polished the dipstick... bloody thing, every time I pull it out it's got oil on it" (16:11)
S01E04 "You're not taking the Kingswood, I just Gladwrap'd the number plate" (20:56) - also mentioned that the Kingswood has only 1 exhaust pipe (09:40)
S01E05 "You're not taking the Kingswood, I just put new carpet in the hubcaps" (17:17)
S01E06 Thelma said: "I'm not taking the Kingswood, I [somethinged] the tarpaulin for the Datsun" (16:42)
S01E07 "You're not taking the Kingswood, I just scrubbed the grille with Ipana" [toothpaste] (21:51)
S01E08 "You're not taking the Kingswood, I just dry-cleaned the fan belt" (18:30)
S01E09 "You're not taking the Kingswood, I just spackled-up the Steel Cats... I dunno how they keep getting those grooves in 'em" (20:20)
S01E10 [no Kingswood joke]
S01E11 "You're not taking the Kingswood, I just Baygon'd the towbar" (20:50)
S01E12 "You're not taking the Kingswood, I just... oh, alright... but keep it away from all that rock'n'roll because it makes the horn go deaf" (19:59)
S01E13 [no Kingswood joke]
S02E01 [no Kingswood joke]
S02E02 [no Kingswood joke] but Thelma said "I didn't know the Kingswood was automatic", Ted said "Don't be stupid, woman, poofs have automatics, men have gears" (07:49)
S02E03 "You're not taking the Kingswood, I just Mr Sheen'd the roof rack" (10:08) - also mentioned that the Kingswood has a tennis ball on the towball (12:30)
S02E04 "He's not getting in the Kingswood, he can ride on the roof rack" (08:46)
S02E05 "You're not taking the Kingswood, I just shampooed the jack" (04:48)
S02E06 "You're not taking the Kingswood, I just Pea-Beu'd the boot" (08:05)
S02E07 [no Kingswood joke]
S02E08 [no Kingswood joke]
S02E09 "You're not taking the Kingswood, I just Gladwrap'd the aerial" (04:36)
S02E10 [no Kingswood joke]
S02E11 [no Kingswood joke]
S02E12 "You're not taking the Kingswood, I just Silvo'd the exhaust pipe" (20:40) - also mentioned in court "registration number TB007" (20:00)
S02E13 [no Kingswood joke] but mentioned that the Kingswood has sheepskin seat covers (14:11)
S03E01 [Commodore 4 purchased]
There were also many references to the "Duco" but no mention of colour.
I've watched most of season 3, except three episodes I can't find, but there's a lot more missing from the final three seasons so not sure if it's worth continuing, as much as I like Old Grumble Bum, I kinda need to watch something else for a while!

Baz, Have you got the numbers for the 1971 LC GTRs ? I know they would have required 200 for eligibility and at least another 200 to homologate the 173 CF..........
