Constantly I readhow the A9X had the UC rear floorpan. The quickest answer I have is go and open the boot of a UC and an A9X and you'll have your answer. Where does the spare in a UC sit, and where does it sit in an A9X? Which came out first too? UC or A9X?

So Red,

Didn't the A9X have a bolt in piece to do the UC connection,

which is the only bit like the UC.  :D

EDIT:-

The A9X borrowed a section of the rear floorpan from the new UC Torana to allow the vastly improved Radial Tuned Suspension (RTS) geometry and fitment of the much stronger Salisbury rear axle assembly complete with disc brakes. This made the A9X the first Holden ever to be fitted standard with rear discs, and the Salisbury differential also meant the extra tall 2.60:1 ratio could be used.

False and False.

48-215 had two headlights, as did FJ through to whenever. HK was the first to get quad or 4 x headlights on both Premier sedan model and Premier wagon model.

Others got the Brougham.

Leo tried hard to get quad lights on GTS but wasn't allowed until HZ.

LOL, that's what I meant, twin as in 2 side by side on each side of the car, not twin 1 per side of the car. Never seen a mono headlight car. I wonder if one was ever made?

I'd be betting money that UC protos or even pilots were around before the first A9X was actually assembled. The UC design is most likely where the floor patch originated.

the only thing they have in common was the top control arms ? which came from the HQ ?  i also think the only reason the HQ , A9X and the UC

all share the same top control arm spacing is because they all had cast iron diff housings , the spacing better suits the cast iron centers .

What I meant was the UC design would have been locked in a long time before any production A9X was built. So to fit the Salisbury all they'd need to do was build the floor patch for the LX that replicated the UC's UCA attachment.

There is another reason why HQ-WB design is so radically different to any Holden before it or to the locally designed LH-UC Torana, but i'll leave that explanation up to someone else for a later date.
