Fiction. Aluminium parts were made, but not for privileged people. Harry Firth had them made as a test, but from there someone did manage to get hold of them, but no they were not made for anyone.

If it did, it'd be a HB diff? Probably the only Salisbury that GMH had that'd fit?

Maybe a Gemini diff? I didn't think the disguised banjos were around back then even in design phase. Would have thought it'd be around 1972-3ish at the earliest. Does the GTR-X use LC/J UCA pickup points on the diff or were they further inboard like a Salisbury fitted car with coils springs? Did the HB style Vauxhall in Europe come with a bigger diff (and rear discs) than what we got here? Possibly that is where it GTR-X's diff came from.

HP actually meant "The Bigger Size" or something like that. 253 and 149 were blank and 179 and 308 had HP.

The limited info I have read about the GTR-X the production car would have been kitted out with LJ XU1 running gear, incl the Banjo.

The Vauxhall HB Viva and the HB Torana use the same baby Salisbury diff.

Hmm shows I don't have a clue then haha.
