I picked up another project from one of the guys from work, not that I needed one.

The plan is to use the angry 308 and the full manual valve body trimatic that come out of the awd hatch, cut down vn diff, rack and pinion steering.

Will be painting it white with red monaro style interior.

I don't think I will be able to handle the raw power of the 186 so i decided to down grade to the 308.   :spoton:

Started working out the rack conversion. Using a early commodore rack and need to cut 75mm out of the shaft and 95mm out of the housing.

I'm going to convert the rack end to the later VN one which only need a m14x1.5 thread.

Got the rack cut back and started working out the mount and positioning. I think one of the steering arms may be bent.

Picked up another front subframe so I dropped the motor in and the torana extractor to see if they would work, they need some modification to clear the steering shaft.

Also measured up the sump clearances and started cutting it up.

Did you know a HT-HG 253/308 sump will fit straight in?

Finished the sump, just through some black paint on it to stop it rusting.
