Google answers are conflicting.

What do I disconnect?
1 Battery?
2 Fuse?
3 Just don't turn the ignition on?
4 All of the above?

And also, your methods to centralize the clock spring?

Only interested in advise by those that have actually done this please.

Might be the same,

On my VX I started with the wheels pointed straight and disconnected the battery and waited about 10min, my Haynes manual says 10sec to disable the SRS

When centralising the clock spring I did it before I put it in by counting the turns from left to right and finding the centre, when it is in the centre there was a small green piece visible in a window, as you turn left to right to the stops the green piece can be seen on it's way past but is only fully visible when in the centre

don't turn it to hard to each end as apparently that is how it could be broken

I changed my vy clock spring. Getting the horn pad off is the hardest part.
Battery disconnected.
Few different varieties available dependent on trim level.eg amount of controls on steering wheel.
About $50 for non genuine part.
About $40 for an auto elec to wipe the code once your done.

Er ................well....................um............ I opened the box and the instructions are there on how to centralize.........Disconnect the battery would be the safest option I reckon? I think I have the radio code in the books.

Strange. Any half decent clock spring should come pre-centralised and with a clip in place so it cannot move. But yes if need be the above method of counting rotations and turning back to the mid point is general practice. Slowly though.

Correct, disconnect both battery terminals and wait for 5 mins or so before unplugging any SRS wires. This allows any capacitor to fully discharge. Use this time to remove steering wheel. Or drink, whatever. But I'd prefer you didn't on this job.

Genuine article, bought new from Holden. The clip is part of it and can't be removed. What the instructions don't tell you is that the centralizing was done at the factory. I guess they lost some thing in the translation from French?
