Search for "Sydney Show Car" on this forum and you'll see colour photos of it.

I've given him a value of 15 to 20 in good condition all original and 15 to 18 with his v8 in it or 40 to 45 done as an a9x replica with correct parts and good body and paint.
I think its a fair price in the current market.
So are we going to see this pop up for sale in the near future Dave?

so would the car be consided rare then?

As rare as a triple-breasted Martian prostitute!
Yes, definitely rare, probably collectible (more so if it was still in original condition), but whether that also means valuable is something else entirely?
Definitely not worth as much as a genuine A9X, probably not worth as much as a genuine SS, but it is still an LX hatch.
It'd make a good base for a race car though!

worth owning the car then i guess. hard to say what price it would bring if its a one off..

This car was definitely a test mule for the Starfire project.
As Byron said, it may not have been the only one and I agree that a manual version was probably built as well.
At the end of the day it is only a Sunbird Torana but it's a very rare bird indeed. just a shame that the original motor is no longer and that it's story is mostly unknown..
