Hi Grant,

On a side note, you have broken your diff mounts then in a separate event the carrier housing.

Any gearbox issues? Great box that can survive when the diff is breaking.

Great story and well done

Cheers, Tom

No jinx intended, sorry

I got my T56 shimmed and the guy put New bearings in it because they looked like they had been hot.

He commented that the T56 rarely gives problems and is very strong, his recommendation was to not cruise it at too low rpm so they get enough oil movement, other than that they are problem free.

Enjoy,

At 100km mine is only reving at around 1800 rpm. I would call that low, but given the suspension in the Torana, I would say the oil is always on the move ;)

All good, I think they are a great box, just a bit slow in gear changes

That is all the stock RPM is really... I had a 2000 Camaro SS with the original 3.42 diff and the T56 and it just idled along at 65 - 70 mph pretty much.

Only a week to go Nathan
Are you ready to go?

I wish I was, but I couldn't be more unprepared.
Work is rediculous at the moment and my car not running yet, and will need a tune before leaving. Hopefully the guy that tunes it can do it for me Thursday or Friday.
Nothing like last minute!

Has someone got a link to a schedule for this? I can't find much on google.

I'd like to bring the boys to the Calder Park events.

Starts this Sunday with scruteneering only.
Monday is Calder, then head to Bendigo for the night
Tuesday is Heathcote, then to Mildura for the night
Wednesday race Mildura, then either stay there the night or head to Swan Hill
Thursday race Swan Hill, then either stay there or head back to Bendigo
Friday final day race Calder.

Monday will have the most amount of cars running.
Friday will be better racing as its the last day and they also run grudge matches, and straight heads up no classes. Can expect less cars as the week will take a few casualties no doubt

I'm guessing the tracks will open each day around 10 or 11am going on last year.

Hope this helps. Hope to see you at some stage Wayne

I heard the Friday at Calder is night time racing? Or is it both day and night time?

Unsure, I haven't heard yet. I hope day though
I just hope they don't mix it up with a Street Meet. Last Friday at King of the Hill was a disaster

Cheers mate, I am very thankful for your offer!
I fired the engine late night and shut it down instantly. I had no exhaust on it and it was 11pm.
Hoping to get out tonight connect up exhaust, mount the thermo fans, then I just need coolant tomorrow and I'm driving again.
From there off to get tuned and I'm done.

I will keep your offere in mind.

Thanks again!!!

Sounds good bro, I was going to ask if you had anything on. What day are you thinking of going?

If you can make it mate, thought you might be busy at work. Do you want to meet there or at my place mate? Calder is literally 20 minutes from here.

I'm ready mate. Can't wait. Not sure what the tune up is like as I've had limited time to tune it. I packed the e85 carb anyway just incase.

I will keep an eye out on Sunday and be sure to say g'day.
If you realise you need something once your on the road, don't be shy to yell out, I'm happy to help out where I can, especially given I'm local and live 10 minutes from Calder.
Look forward to catching up.

See you other dodo's Monday :)

And Daz, you bringing the Torrie mate? Mines on the road, was thinking about bringing it.
