I have been a very grumpy little Vegemite these last couple days. I should have been there!
On a better note I will be there racing again on Friday night and watching the finals.
Can't hurt the car when it's safe sitting in my shed........ Unfortunately :(

Did you end up having another run on Monday Grant?
Looks like the weather is going to be good for Friday. Hopefully you can break that 11 second barrier if not already. I'll be there cheering you on mate.

Friday the gates open at 2pm and racing from 4-9

Glad to hear it mate, I didn't realise your situation! At least you did better than me, lol. As I said last year..... Maybe next year
No major dramas Brett, just bad timing all round.
Reading about the Challenge and the issues people are having, it looks like a fun filled week!
I've already cleared it with the wife.
Next year I'm already booked in

Thanks guy.
Yep finally an 11.9!
It's got more in it I'm sure as my 60' was 1.86, the run prior was a 1.64 but I stuffed up a gear shift. There is an 11.7 or better in there somewhere.
But for now, very happy.
last night was good fun with some extremely fast cars.
Jarad in the Blue one tonner went 7.71@182. That is one fast streeter. It was only finished three weeks prior, and is fully engineered as is.
Terry Sing went 7.76. A testament to his car and team. I believe they struggled a bit throughout the week but rand two solid 7 sec passes last night.
Adam in the Blue NOSHOW didn't get a 7, but ran very consistent 8.0's
Mark Drew in his twin turbo Torana did some big wheel stands and went 8.20, but that came to an end when he nearly flipped it end to end. It stood up that high it damaged the rear beaver panel! And scrapped his bumper!
The stand out for me was Alon Vella in the Green Capri. 9.1 naturally aspirated. Awsome and very consistent.
Over all is was the one and only Bubba that took out the Honours for the week. Consistent and fast, showing all how it's done. Hi VH powered by the small (or big unsure) Paw engine I believe didn't miss a beat. A big well done to him and his team!!!!
Nathan in his Black LC. Well those that saw it know it is a very tidy little machine. For a budget built car, again built with having fun in mind, a 10.6 is very respectable. The car sounds great, and from my understanding had no issues all week. Well done to Nathan.
He is also a nice guy and very approachable for a chat. I floated around chatting to a lot of guys last night, and Nathan always greater me with a smile and outstretched hand. Glad to have met him, and hope to cross paths again!!
Sorry my documentation and photos were not up to speed this year as I didn't complete the Challenge. I do commend all that did, as they now know, it is no walk in the park, it takes time effort and money to complete. And as I have said in the past, it is very harsh on your car, and will find you weaknesses.
As for my next adventure, just to show my car was built for fun and not drag racing, I think it time to do a couple Hill Climbs. One for fun, and two to show the car can do it all.
It's a purpose built car, and the purpose is anything that sounds like fun!
Well done again to all involved, and hopefully Nathan can post some photos and tell some stories from his Challenge.

Saw some bits of the SM live feed yesterday, those 7 sec passes were awesome.
Once again, the outright fastest car didn't win, Bubba had great consistency. Well deserved! Man these guys are setting the bar high!

Well done Grant. 116MPH is an 11.7 easy. Hoping my new set up runs about the same. An 11 second street car is nothing to sneeze at :-)

This time it went 11.9@118mph, so I am sure it will go 11.7 or better.
I just need to become better and more consistent in my starts and gear changes. Being a manual it's not so easy, and the Tremec is a slow changing box.
Oh well, it is what it is........
And it is a whole lot of fun!

Grant sounds like my last run at the strip. I went 11.0, 11.0, 11.0, 11.0 and finally a 10.9. It is all about the consitency mate. I ran 123MPH :0). One of the commentaotors actually came down to find me and said I should enter a showdown as I was so consistent. I just wanted to crack a 10 before I detuned the beast. Now hoping for mid to high 11's again with my new combo just like my injected 355 did before I blew it up.
Keep at it mate..With a manual you have done exceptionally well. Put an auto and stall in it and you will see 11.5's with that MPH.

How do I upload pics from my iPhone??

Send myself an email of the photos I want to load. When I send the email it asks me what size to send. This is how I resize the photos.
Obviously I then save the smaller sized photos.
Once signed in to the Forum, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "Full Version". This will give you the same view as on your computer.
From their, as normal, click on the "Reply to this Topic", then bottom right corner, "More Reply Options", and add your photos as usual.
Hope this helps and can be understood properly.
I hope it does as I would love to see some of your photos!

Were you at Calder on the Monday? He mentioned that you may have showed him some photos, or was that from the Streetmachine website?
