I think you'll find that it will probably be easier to rego an LX with a 253 than an LX with a V6...

ye rim it is alot of F*cking around putting a V6 in and its $1400 just for the conversion kit so i would need to spend 3k or more to get it regoed and street legal so for that money imagine the power i could get out of a 253 :spoton: so i will stick with the 253 coz it will sound better and if it costs more to run so be it :<_<:

Make your mind up... jeez!

Dad used to have a 253 in an HX Premier.

It was rebuitl, all the bores honed to the individual pistons, completely stock everything, except a cam.

Stock exhaust Manifolds, stock carby, stock inlet manifold, amd it would rev to 7g all day long. without an engine fan...

So yeah, theres plenty to be had out of 253's if you know where to look...

have to agree 150% with RIM-010 i built a 253 stock, blueprinted with mild cam and usuall bolt ons and i had to tell people it was worked just to satisfy them as they would not believe it was internally standard.

Hey Casey that is a cracker shell you picked up there (and only $400) I bet there are not many that staight with no rust and genuine grandpa hubcaps its a wonder it didnt have a sunvisor.
Do us all a favour and look after it (eg no trees, light poles or other cars for bonnet orniments)
Good luck with the build>

Cheers Byron
