2600S ( 161 ) LC GTR Engines also, but comparing a 1970 186 engine to a 1973 202 engine. If you want to compare engines, compare a 1973 202 engine against a 1973 202 engine. Nothing against 186 engines, they are my favourite especially those mighty CK,s.

Comparing core pattern numbers from different displacements is worthless but the engine numbers are invaluable.

Come on Byron, waiting on pic's of the cast date
When I get time to ask the owner what it is. Not really important either as it is what it is. Doesn't really prove much either as you can't easily get the engine number and cast date in the one picture.

You w****** reckon you are so shit hot at picking the fakes from the real deal you shouldn't need a cast date to make a judgement on the originality of an engine number.

Yes the "3" in three photos i posted belongs to that engine,i have no reason mix and match, makes no difference to me what numbers are cast into the block. The 3 in below pic. is the same 3 as the one previously posted , easy enough to compare the two with casting
telltales around the number. Will try and get some pictures of 202 blocks and numbers , what prefix are we looking for the era in question ?

The Exhaust was in the way, so I couldn't really see any thing I cleaned with a rag, will have to suss it again, going off the Engine Number, my guess its a HQ Kingswood Engine ??????

Crikey ! no cast number will certainly through a spanner in the works , a no cast block , but seriously, the QLJP block that we made that number was not very evident even by eye as it was almost "level" with the rest of the cast and just "seeable", so even by feel it would be hard to tell ?

Could be HQ Kingswood. Could also be HQ cab-chassis, HQ Belmont, Premier, Monaro or Monaro LS. The only thing it can't be is HQ Statesman as there is no leading 11.
